Anthrax Suspect Obsessed With Sorority?
This case just gets stranger and stranger.
WASHINGTON Authorities say the top suspect in the 2001 anthrax attacks was obsessed with a sorority that sat less than 100 yards away from a New Jersey mailbox where the toxin-laced letters were sent.
Multiple U.S. officials told The Associated Press on Monday that former Army scientist Bruce Ivins was long obsessed with the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma, going back as far as his own college days at the University of Cincinnati
When I originally blogged about this last week I expressed hope that the feds would lay out their case in a full press conference to help tamp down wild speculation and give some additional legitimacy to their charges in light of the botched initial investigation.
Unfortunately, it looks like little strands are coming out one by one and that will only help to fuel crazy theories and cast doubt on the governments case.
