Barack Obama "Birth Certificate" -- Conclusively Fake?
Israeli Insider advances the ball quite a bit here, though I'm not sure the case is quite proven.
But it's almost completely proven. Unless the following anomalies can be explained away, the Kos "certificate" is a fake:
* Someone was doctoring up obvious parody Obama "birth certificates" which are seen in a photobucket file. One of these has a "baby picture" of Obama, which is, um, Buckwheat from The Little Rascals. Although time-stamps are not conclusive, the time-stamp on the obvious Buckwheat-Baby forgery is actually prior in time to the time-stamp on the Daily Kos post showing the supposedly-real "birth certificate."
The earlier forgery is only prior to the Kos "real" certificate by two minutes... but then, the Daily Kos is on Pacific time, and it's possible the time-stamp of the Buckwheat Baby parody is on eastern time. Giving someone three hours to delete the Buckwheat pic and send the forgery along to Kos as a supposedly "real" certificate.
If the time-stamp on the Buckwheat Baby photoshop is accurate, it's hard to understand how a photoshopper got a hold of the real birth certificate before Kos had a chance to post it.
More likely, of course, is that the Buckwheat Baby photopshop is the original version of the supposedly-official certificate offered by Kos... and of course now the Obama campaign itself.
* An example of a real birth certificate plainly shows the embossed seal of the state on the back, poking through so that it is visible on the front. The Kos "certificate" of course includes no such seal. Also visible on the real one is a stamp bearing the registrar's signature, which is of course missing from Obama's "birth certificate."
* Finally, Israeli Insider bothered to ask someone in a position to know:
Janice Okubo, Director of Communications of the State of Hawaii Department of Health, told Israel Insider: "At this time there are no circumstances in which the State of Hawaii Department of Health would issue a birth certification or certification of live birth only electronically." And, she added, "In the State of Hawaii all certified copies of certificates of live birth have the embossed seal and registrar signature on the back of the document."
This seems nearly conclusive to me.
It's all rather baffling to me that Obama doesn't just request a real copy of his birth certificate -- what do they charge, $10 or $15? -- and post it. Why is his website copying and pasting a "birth certificate" gotten from the Daily Kos, especially when it 1) lacks an embossed seal or signature-stamp and 2) appears to just be a photoshop of a previous joke photoshop?
I repeat: the NYT wrote not just one but several stories raising the question of whether John McCain was constitutionally eligible to become president, due to the circumstances of his birth.
Is that not an interesting question when directed at Barack Hussein Obama? What accounts for that, I wonder?
In all likelihood, Obama's genuine birth certificate will show pretty much what Kos' apparent forgery shows -- and thus ends the issue, to the extent there is an issue lurking here. But why is the Obama campaign relying upon a almost-certain photoshop forgery when requesting the genuine article is obviously a rather easy action for it to take?
