So, Scampydog asked if I could fill in for him about three weeks ago. I said, "Sure, I would love to sit in."

I apologize in advance if I sound like weirddave. But, real life has been happening and I'm not giving you as much as I had originally planned.

A B.C. man suffered minor injuries after fending off a cougar attack by punching the animal in the face in the province's northern Interior last weekend.

The province's Conservation Officer Service said in a social media post that the attack happened on Saturday around 11 a.m. PT near Smithers, B.C., about 670 kilometres northwest of Vancouver.

The service said the man was working near Lake Kathlyn when the animal approached and swiped his upper body.

GREAT FALLS — Officials at Yellowstone National Park say that a 17-year-old male sustained "significant thermal burns" to his foot and ankle area.

It happened in the vicinity of Lone Star Geyser on Monday, July 28, 2025.

A news release says the teen was on a hike in the thermal area when his foot broke through the thin crust and he sustained burns to a lower extremity.

Emergency medical staff responded and took him to a hospital for further treatment.

Park officials are investigating the incident; no other details have been released
