Barack Obama (D-Friend Of At Least One Terrorist) Smears Fellow Senator

I wanted to bring a little attention to one of the most truly egregious things Mr. Bring Everyone Together did last night.

In trying to deflect attention away from his relationship with a terrorist (Bill Ayers), Obama smeared a man he claims to be a friendly with, fellow Senator Tom Coburn.

This is a guy (Ayers) who lives in my neighborhood, who's a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He's not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.

And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn't make much sense, George.

The fact is, is that I'm also friendly with Tom Coburn, one of the most conservative Republicans in the United States Senate, who during his campaign once said that it might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carried out abortions.

Do I need to apologize for Mr. Coburn's statements? Because I certainly don't agree with those either.

No Mr. Obama you don’t need to apologize for Tom Coburn but you need to apologize to him.

Let’s take a quick look at these two men Sen. Obama links together so cavalierly.

Ayers in a 2001 interview (ironically published the morning of September 11th) with the New York Times about his memoir said, ''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.''

I guess the 12 bombings the Weathermen claimed credit for, including targets such as the headquarters of the NYPD, the Pentagon and the US Capitol, weren’t enough.

Surely the older, presumably wiser version of Ayers that Obama hung out with renounces his past and would never ‘do it all again’, right? Not so fast says Ayers ''I don't want to discount the possibility'.'

So what did Senator Tom Coburn do to deserve to be lumped in with this unrepentant domestic terrorist?

Coburn in addition to serving in the Senate is an MD who specializes in family medicine and obstetrics. He also favors, “the death penalty for abortionists and other people who take life."

Now that’s a pretty extreme position but calling for a law making that possible is a far cry from going out and planting bombs to kill abortionists.

Senator Obama apparently doesn’t see any difference between advocating for a law and planting bombs.

The Democrats should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this man to get so far in their primary race and he should be ashamed of himself for equating a good man with a terrorist scum bag.

Fortunately for Democrats, they seem to be mentally incapable of feeling shame.

One last thing, where’s McCain? Shouldn’t he be standing up for his fellow Republican Senator and calling Obama out on this?
