Question: Why Was Max Blumenthal Searching For The Name "Throbert McGee"?
And why was he specifically looking for gay stuff? Why did he focus laser-like on this angle?
I guess I should stop avoiding the obvious: this is "Gracie"/"Beth."
But "Throbert" wrote all of his Beauchamp posts under the pseudonyms "Gracie" and "Beth." He was trying to distance himself from those posts, of course, so TNR wouldn't fire him. (They got on to his computer, tracked down where he'd posted, and fired him anyway, of course.)
How did Little Syd Blumenthal know to connect the names?
How did Little Syd Blumenthal know to look for gay stuff on him?
Did he, perchance, get a tip from someone at TNR?
Wasn't the jackass Cease and Desist letter, making all sorts of ludicrous legal threats, enough?
Note: I wrote Cease and Desist order originally. It's not. It's a ludicrous letter from TNR's lawyers pretending they can restrain a man from telling the truth about them.
Sorry for the mistake.
Chilling dissent, indeed.
Update: A reader tips me that Max Blumenthal's site says he was expressly tipped to "Throbert's" real name by "a source close to TNR."
The efforts of Sanchez and right-wing bloggers to take Beauchamp down were allegedly supported by a TNR staffer with a bizarre background. I just received a letter from a source close to TNR. The source wrote...
Read "a source close to TNR" as "a source at TNR," because it is, obviously. (Which includes the possibility it's none other than Scottie "Three Queens" Beauchamp.)
Am I crazy or is that a late addition to the post? I did not see that earlier.
At any rate, we know TNR fed him the name of the source, which, at this point, is probably the worst-kept secret on the Internet, but I'll avoid mentioning it.
So: How did Li'l Sydney Blumenthal know specifically to dig for gay stuff on "Throbert"?
Seems to "a source close to TNR" might have fed him that, too.
Crazy! I'm told it was there, all along.
Eh. Readin' is for fags.
