Germaine Greer gets a tongue lashing. [Jack M.]
And not the good kind either.
The speed at which Lefties turn on fellow Lefties always amuses me. Is there anything faster than a leftist politician distancing himself from their fellow leftists when the mask slips and their true agendas surface?
I think not. Einstein's relativity equations may have to be adjusted to account for this proposition.
In any event, it has happened again. As Ace documented earlier, feminist icon Germaine Greer had a few choice things to say about the late Steve Irwin.
As you can imagine, now that her words are being heard, the public uproar over her remarks is being felt. And Australian leftist politicians, who seldom need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows, are abandoning her faster than a dingo can eat your baby.
Don't believe me? Check out these remarks from the Labor parties foreign affairs spokesman, Kevin Rudd.
"I think Germaine Greer should just stick a sock in it," Mr. Rudd said in Canberra today.
"You have got a grieving mother, you have got a couple of grieving young kids and a grieving nation and what to [sic] you get from Germaine Greer? You get a bucket load of politically correct pap – it's just nonsense.
"Steve Irwin was a nature conservationist, an animal conservationist and made a huge contribution to the preservation of wildlife worldwide.
"And what do we get from Germaine Greer? - some gratuitous, politically correct claptrap. She should put a sock in it," he said.
"Gratuitous, politically correct claptrap". Why that pretty much sums up Miss (I bet she hates being called that) Greer's life work, don't ya think?
Maybe it's just me.
