Rummy's Heckler: Anti-Semitic Conspiracy-Theory Peddler (And Defender of Mary McCarthy, Natch!)
Here's how the AP's most recent article described him:
...a former CIA analyst...
...an outspoken critic of the war in Iraq.
Here's how Jim Lehrer of PBS described him:
Ray McGovern was an analyst for 27 years. He retired in 1990. He is now a member of the group Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity, which has criticized the current administration for politicizing intelligence.
And here's how someone not in the MSM describes him. Jacob Laskin of Front Page:
McGovern was not above retailing anti-Israel conspiracy theories. Hence he claimed, inter alia, that an Israeli company had advanced warning of the 9/11 attacks—an accusation echoed in literature passed out by Democratic activists at the hearing.
It's very interesting what the MSM considers newsworthy and too "confusing" to readers to report, eh?
More at Gateway Pundit. McGovern: "The US may be manufacturing fake terrorists."
Oh yeah, I can see why the MSM doesn't include that in his bio. It's not an "interesting theory," as Howard Dean might say, and it is not at all helpful in evaluating or establishing an, ummm, intellectual context for his other theories.
