Secret Service Confesses Incompetence, Tells Trump It Can't Protect Him In the Outdoors

Somehow, the failure to secure an easily accessible roofline 130 yards from the stage doesn't sound like an esoteric point of failure for a supposedly world-class personal-protection operation, nor a signal of indoor excellence:

Secret Service officials encouraged Donald Trump's campaign to stop scheduling large outdoor rallies and other outdoor events with big crowds after the assassination attempt on the former president in Butler, Pa., according to people familiar with the matter.

In the aftermath of the shooting, agents from the Secret Service communicated their concerns about large outdoor rallies going forward to Trump campaign advisers, three people familiar with the matter said. ...

For upcoming events, Trump's team is scouting indoor venues, such as basketball arenas and other large spaces where thousands of people can fit, people familiar with the request said. The campaign is not currently planning any large outdoor events, a person close to Trump said.

NBC "News" is reporting that Trump has decided that the Secret Service's lethal incompetence requires him to abandon the rallies that are so central to his electoral strategy.

Former President Donald Trump plans to stop holding outdoor rallies like the one where he was shot during an assassination attempt this month in Butler, Pennsylvania, according to two sources familiar with his campaign's operations.

The sources said current plans are to hold indoor rallies, but they also said it's possible Trump will participate in smaller outdoor events or larger rallies in facilities where entrances are more fully controlled and there are not issues with high ground nearby, like stadiums.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung declined to comment on Trump's security measures and referred questions to the Secret Service.

A spokesperson for the Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment Tuesday night.

The Secret Service is going to need all of its agents to protect the Second Husband, Kamala's cuck, of course. So they just can't assign the resources necessary to protect the front-running Once and Future President. Oh, drat!
