Another Post-Election Surprise! Trump Was Not, Repeat Not, Attempting To Sell Nuclear Secrets to Russia, Admit FBI Leakers and Washington Post

Another revelation it's safe to disclose... after the election.

Kevin Downey at PJM:

There is nothing funnier than watching leftist Punchinellos beclown themselves over the latest "We've got Trump NOW!" hijinks.

I don't know what Punchinello means. I assume it's QAnon racist code or something.

Remember when the FBI raided Trump's home supposedly looking for "nuclear secrets" a few months back? Guess how that turned out?

I'll let the quislings at the Washinton Post spell it out:

Federal agents and prosecutors have come to believe former president Donald Trump's motive for allegedly taking and keeping classified documents was largely his ego and a desire to hold on to the materials as trophies or mementos, according to people familiar with the matter.

In other words, Trump was keeping souvenirs, as everyone else does.

Funny how WaPo sat on that story until after the midterms, right?

But wait, there's more!

That review has not found any apparent business advantage to the types of classified information in Trump's possession, these people said. FBI interviews with witnesses so far, they said, also do not point to any nefarious effort by Trump to leverage, sell or use the government secrets. Instead, the former president seemed motivated by a more basic desire not to give up what he believed was his property, these people said.

More at the link.

I try to remind myself that as much as Trump exhausts me with the stuff Trump actually does -- "I know Ron DeSantis better than his wife, and I might say some things that he wouldn't like people to know," "Young Kin-- interesting point, sounds Chinese" -- much of what exhausts me about Trump isn't stuff Trump did, but stuff the Deep State did in their obsessive pursuit of Trump. And I can't blame Trump for the Deep State exhausting me with their lunatic pursuit of Trump.

I admit, sometimes I do allow my judgment to be colored by the general, undifferentiated pile of exhaustion relating to Trump, without parsing out which parts of it are actually due to Trump, and which are due to his obsessive, lunatic, and evil Deep State Democrat Jalverts.

Which is part of their intent, at least when their frenzied minds are sane enough to actually formulate rational intentions.

No one will give this story real coverage. It will never be formally announced that they found nothing. A leak will be the best they will give Trump-- and this isn't meant as a favor to Trump. This leak is just to let the frenzied Democrat partisans know that they shouldn't expect anything to come from this particular baseless persecution.

They never clear Trump; they deliberately permit all allegations and suspicions to molder and stink forever, without ever dispelling them by clearing the air.

Just like they never really push the information that Michael Brown assaulted Officer Wilson and attempted to wrest his gun from him and kill him with it -- they let the "Gentle Giant killed by a cop for nothing" story persist, so that people still bring it up on CNN and MSNBC years later, and no one corrects them. And they let it persist intentionally, precisely so that it does pass into the realm of mythic resonance where its truth or falsity no longer matters. It's now a teaching tale, like a fable of Aesop.

Same with the Russia Collusion Op. The media leaves it vague and pretends it's still an open question upon which well-intentioned people can disagree as to whether Trump really was a Russian Agent or not. It was conclusively disproven, so the media, like the Black Knight in Monty Python, sportingly offers to call it a draw.

But we're the ones with the disinformation problem, right?
