The Morning Report — 11/16/22

trekpencero.jpg

Good morning, kids. Wednesday and as most of you are probably aware Donald Trump has announced his third bid for the presidency. Before getting to the nub of this disquisition, let me start off, at the risk of irking those of you, including cobs and colleagues who are dead set against Trump by saying my admiration for that man is deep. Not since Ronald Reagan has there ever been any candidate or president with a deeper love for this nation and its citizenry than Trump. Whatever his personal flaws are as a man (and for sure he has them), his accomplishments in office prove he loves America. The question of should he run again is now moot. Is this a colossal mistake for him and more crucially for us? I don't necessarily think his age would be a hindrance but I'd be lying if I didn't hold it as a big strike against him in my eyes, but that's the least of it.

Frankly I'm put off by the animus against him which brands him as a failure for not anticipating an enemy whose vastness and depravity very few of us even imagined. It's a bit like blaming the rape victim for dressing too provocatively. In any case, regardless of my support or lack thereof for his candidacy, I'm glad he is running, if for no other reason than to make his challengers rise to that challenge. I think it's healthy regardless of what the media and the Left (BIRM) will do with it. They're going to ream him, his rivals and all of us anyway. The GOP itself sabotaged the campaigns of quite a number of MAGA candidates in the midterms for the sole purpose of fucking up a potential Trump candidacy and even victory. Sure, the lion's share of that rests in our banana republic voting season where ballots trump (no pun) votes, but there you have it.

So Trump's in and the GOP has officially retaken the House. Compare and contrast with Christopher Wray all but admitting that the FBI had stooges and confederates in amongst the J-6 crowd by his refusal to directly state "no" when queried in a hearing, and Ebenezer Baptist slumlord/wife-beater Warnock and the DSCC are now suing to extend the voting period for the GA senate seat runoff. In that light, and all things considered, does any of this even really matter anymore? Forget Trump or DeSantis. If the GOP ran Jesus Christ fresh off the cross even he (He) wouldn't stand a chance against this machine. I know I'm being a downer but I've got to call it as I see it.

Two parables: I remember back in the early 70s, some friends of mine went to a Yes concert at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City (now demolished) and had their car stolen. When they went to the cops, the response was "So, steal someone else's."

There's also the scene from The Sting when Doyle Lonegan goes apeshit after Henry Gondorff takes him down in his rigged poker game: "What was I supposed to do?! Call him out for cheating better than me?!"

Meh, the best I can do at 6:30 in the morning but I think the point is made. If the Democrats are going to eviscerate election integrity to the extent that they are able to and quite eager to harvest ballots, forge ballots and harvest forged ballots without any need to verify their legitimacy, why don't we do the same? It's a great idea until you understand people like Katie Hobbs run the elections and get to decide which votes are kosher and which are not. Also, take a look at who is still rotting away in prison for being sucked into Christopher Wray's J-6 Reichstag Fire. Do what Democrats do and you won't get the book thrown at you. You'll get the entire Library of Congress on your head.

So, do we give up? Curl into a fetal position and beg for mercy? I want to fight back but how do we do that without having a hobnailed Manolo Blahnick kick our teeth in?
