The Federal Government Is the Insurrectionist

This acknowledgement of reality -- that it's not a crime to walk through a door held open for you by police -- is fatal to the corrupt government's entire J6 narrative. It's also why DOJ has criminally abused defendants to force plea deals: DOJ knows its cases are garbage.

I wish I had said something like that. Oh right, I did say something like that.

But what I didn't note, which Sean did, is the absolute savagery and cruelty with which the illegitimate and criminal government is treating these political prisoners, in order to extract guilty pleas, in order to avoid going to actual trial with these garbage cases which criminalize political dissent and seek to transform minor trespass into treason.

The weaker the case, the more ferally and barbarically a prosecutor must behave to secure a plea deal on it.

You don't want to plead guilty to these trumped-up charges? Okay, Tough Guy, how about we hold you in solitary confinement for 15 months without trial, and we keep putting off the trial so you get the sense you will be held forever without a trial?

Would you like to plead guilty now, Tough Guy?

And do bear in mind that if you don't plead guilty, we might just hold you forever without a conviction or plea. So you can either plead guilty to these bullshit charges and have some hope of eventually leaving jail, or you can just continue to rot in this political prison for the rest of your life.

You are free to choose between those two options. This is America, after all. We don't just coerce people into doing things, unless you're a dirty anti-vaxxer or a dirty Ukraine-non-supporter or a dirty Transgenderism For Kids Denier, or, well, anyone at all who disagrees with any of The Regime's lunatic priorities of Current Week.

This government is illegitimate and has forfeited its right to allegiance. When a Regime loses moral authority to rule, it relies, as it must, solely on coercion, menace, and brutality. And boy oh boy, is this Regime proving that true.

The fact that the GOP continues defending this, and even applauding it, is more proof that the GOP must itself be destroyed.

Buh-buh-buh: Muh Insurrection.

An Exaggerated Form of Ultra-Patriotism Is the Cudgel of the Cruel:

"How is it," I once asked [Oscar Wilde], "that people who are not possessed of a single other virtue should come out at times as patriots?"

"Exaggerated patriotism," he answered, "is the most insincere form of self-conceit." And at another time he said, "Patriotism is the virtue of the vicious."

The quote is attributed to Oscar Wilde but there is some question whether he actually said it.

Certainly there's truth in the words, whoever said them. The left and NeverTrump has been dressing up their coups in the cloak of Ultra-Patriotism since they decided to follow Hillary Clinton's "Trump is actually a secret agent working for Putin" line of attack, and since Peter Strzok decided to turn the FBI into an arm of the Hillary Clinton Campaign as a "backup plan."

All to defend America, you understand. All to defend America.

Suddenly, the media left which has opposed every anti-Soviet measure claims they're rootin'-tootin' anti-Russkies.

And what about the environmental left taking money from Russia to propagandize against fracking and increased energy production in the West?

Ah well never mind about that. But did you see that Tucker Carlson said that Ukraine isn't in America's sphere of interest? That's the kind of Putin Talking Points we're concerned with.

For five fascist years we have lurched from one supposed National Crisis to the next, all the time shredding the Bill of Rights and stealing freedoms from Americans. The state of Permanent Crisis is used to justify one suspension of basic American liberties after another.

The crisis is Permanent but Mutable: the exact crisis we're supposedly fighting is always changing. The only thing that doesn't change is that we're always in a state of crisis which requires the diminishment of American rights to combat.

My biggest reservation about the Shiny New Crisis, the Crisis in the Ukraine, was this: Oh, terrific. You've all dreamed up a New Crisis as a pretext for your ceaseless attack on your political enemies and the banishment of all political dissent.

We just exited one crisis that demanded a suspension of the First Amendment -- the Fighting Covid Crisis -- and just as that passes (as you kick and scream, trying to keep it going), you contrive a Replacement Crisis to keep your war on free thought going.

Great, where do I sign up for this Newest Crusade? And what do you have lined up as the Even Newer Crusade, so we can smoothly roll into that new freedom-justifying panic after the Current Panic runs out of juice?

What is astounding about this Ultra-Patriot act is that these people despise American and view actual patriotism -- "nationalism," they sniff -- as a low-minded affectation of the the uneducated lower classes which must be squelched in favor of an Enlightened Global Cosmopolitanism.

But for right now they have Populist Insurrectionists to lock up and drive out of their jobs and homes, and the Ultra-Patriot pose is useful for that, so the Masks go on.

They just love the American Way of Liberty so much they've decided its necessary to suspend the Bill of Rights for as long as it takes to finally put down the Populist Insurrectionists.

And the anti-vaxxers.

And the Ukraine Not-Sufficiently-Supporting Traitors.

And the Transgenderism for Kids Deniers.

And the Canadian Trucker Convoy Traitors. (The US pressured Canada to deprive them of their rights and declare martial law, remember.)

And whatever else they feel they need to suspend the Bill of Rights for this week.
