Feds: We Have Probable Cause to Show That America's Sweetheart Ilhan "Omar" Committed Immigration Crimes

That's not a surprise -- you need probable cause to obtain a warrant, and a judge found that DHS did have probable cause.

And that judge was probably a leftist.

Department of Justice (DOJ) officials confirmed on Monday that Omar's home had been raided as part of a federal probe. Fahey says that because the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is involved, the case focuses on the issue of immigration, but details remain unclear.

"The big picture here is a federal judge in Washington, DC, signed off on a search warrant. That means there's probable cause that a federal crime was committed, and there would be evidence of that crime in the area to be searched, which in this case was Representative Omar's home," Fahey told the New York Post's Chadwick Moore.

In particular, Fahey said it could not have been an easy task for federal investigators to secure a judicial warrant on Omar's home, considering D.C. judges tend to be left leaning, telling the Post that "a judge must have been very convinced" by the evidence presented.

America's sweetheart may be in trouble.

The search Monday of Rep. Ilhan Omar's Washington, D.C., home by federal agents was focused on the Minnesota Democrat's immigration history, raising the prospects of legal and denaturalization risks for the Somalian-born lawmaker.

Federal agents with the Homeland Security Investigations division of the Department of Homeland Security were seen outside Omar's home in the early hours of Monday.

HSI "executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice," an agency spokesperson said in a statement. The spokesperson also confirmed that the raid is "part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation."

Multiple outlets report that the search was part of a criminal fraud investigation into the Omar's immigration paperwork.

The New York Times reports that a new investigation targeting Omar was opened in recent months and centers on her immigration history. The probe is focusing, in part, on whether Omar's late father, Nur Omar Mohamed, lied or omitted information when he sought citizenship in the United States.

Federal authorities determining Omar's father falsified his citizenship application paperwork could lead to them pursuing a criminal or denaturalization case against the congresswoman because she, in turn, would have been granted citizenship from a father who was ineligible for naturalization.

Omar said Monday that the raid on her home was an attempt by President Donald Trump to target his political enemies.

"I will not be silenced," she wrote in a post to X.

I don't want to silence you, I want to deport you and make you persona non grata in the US.

Meanwhile, the same people who said "No one is above the law" to justify -- celebrate, even -- the raid on Mar-a-Lago now say the search of a mere Representative's house is a fascist invasion.
