Somali Aspiring Doctor and/or Engineer Arrested for Plotting to Shoot Up the Mall of America for ISIS

In another persuasive example of how diversity increases our strength, the FBI conducted what appears to have been a sting operation that netted a Minnesotan Somali man who was planning a terrorist attack at the Mall of America later this month.

Details of the plot are still emerging, and it's unclear whether the man was acting alone. Clearly, the FBI had reason to suspect him, since the charges indicate that he bought a weapon from an FBI agent and discussed his intentions, pledged support for ISIS and terrorism in general, and his desire to die for Allah. Obviously, something directed the FBI to this man as the plotting was going on, since they had been following his movements for two years.

Some People Plotted to Shoot Some Other People.

According to an affidavit unsealed on Wednesday, FBI agents arrested 18-year-old Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud on Tuesday directly after he purchased an AK-47 and 200 rounds of ammunition with the stated intent of carrying out a mass shooting.

The criminal complaint alleges Mohamud had messaged an informant for nearly two years, discussing his hatred of non-Muslims and his desire to align with an Islamic terror group. He floated the idea of joining al Qaeda and al Shabaab before deciding to lend his support to the Islamic State.

Mohamud repeatedly expressed his admiration for Islamic terrorist attacks, including the New Year's Eve 2024 attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans; the 2017 Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida; and the 2025 mass shooting during a Hanukkah gathering at Bondi Beach in Sydney.

When the informant tried to talk Mohamud out of such an attack, he replied, "I am 100% committed [sic] to the cause of dying for the sake of Allah only."

Messages indicated he planned to target the Hmong Arts Celebration at Mall of America on Oct. 24 because "it will be a lot of people." ... During that transaction, he explained that he was "an active member of ISIS" and that "part of his motivation was that the Mall of America was owned by Jews," the complaint states.

Meanwhile: United allows a jihadi to fly its commercial planes.

A United Airlines pilot who described the October 7 attack as "resistance by a brave people" and said it was "not unprovoked" is still flying passengers for the airline.

Ibrahim R. Mossallam was temporarily removed from flying duties after the post sparked outrage, but later returned to the cockpit. Since then, he has continued posting strongly anti-Israel statements.

Mossallam also serves as Vice President of the Board of CAIR-New York.

I imagine that one of the violent street muggers is a Doctor, and the other, an Engineer.

The two thugs accused in the cowardly stabbing of an off-duty NYPD detective are both illegal migrants from the Dominican Republic who snuck into the US under former President Joe Biden, according to officials.

Each of them also had been later busted for various crimes in Gotham -- but released because of soft-on-crime laws and the Big Apple's Sanctuary City rules preventing law-enforcement cooperation with ICE.

The criminals had attacked Detective Jose Mercedes as he was grabbing items out of the trunk of his car at Rochambeau Avenue and East 208th Street in Norwood in The Bronx around 1:45 p.m. Friday, cops said.

The brazen pair pulled up to Mercedes on e-bike, then tried to snatch the cop's gold chain, authorities said. The cop fought back and was stabbed seven times by the violent muggers, who sped off and left the detective bleeding on the sidewalk, police said.

Mercedes, who is assigned to the 44th Precinct in The Bronx, miraculously survived the attack because the knife missed his vital organs, sources said. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center and treated for his injuries before being released Monday.

Police identified his alleged attackers Tuesday in the midst of a continuing massive manhunt for them.

"Both of these suspects were released into the country by the Biden administration, and despite multiple prior arrests in New York, sanctuary politicians refused to cooperate with ICE and released them," said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin in a statement.

"These suspects remain at large," Mullin said. "DHS is calling on New York authorities to cooperate with us so we can get these dangerous criminals off our streets."

Mejia and his family illegally crossed the US border with Mexico near San Luis, Arizona, in December 2022 and were nabbed by border patrol agents but released into the country, authorities said.

Mejia was then arrested in The Bronx on a weapons-possession charge last year -- a rap that was not bail-eligible -- and he was released, authorities said.

DHS, which oversees ICE, said Mejia also had other previous raps against him: criminal possession of stolen property, possession of burglar's tools and grand larceny. The disposition of the charges was unclear.

So, this pilot defended Hamas killing innocents in Israel. Rightfully, United Air removed him from the cockpit.

The ridiculous pilot's union defended him so he got his job back.
