Abdul El-Sayed To Headline Islamic Event Alongside Pakistani Cleric Who Forced His 13-Year-Old Niece Into Marriage, Was Denounced for 'Pedophilic Rhetoric'

Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed will spend Labor Day weekend alongside a Jew-hating Pakistani cleric who has promoted antisemitic conspiracy theories and admitted to forcing his 13-year-old niece into marriage.

El-Sayed is scheduled to speak at the Islamic Society of North America's (ISNA) 63rd annual convention, held in Detroit from Sept. 4-7. El-Sayed, whose father-in-law is a founding member of the ISNA--which is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood--will speak Sept. 5 on the oddly titled panel, "Cultivating God Awareness in a Turmoiled America," according to an itinerary.

The convention features a rogues' gallery of notorious Muslim figures who've engaged in Holocaust denial and the persecution of Christians and have also been unindicted co-conspirators in terror plots, including the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. But one speaker stands out for his particularly noxious record: Tariq Masood, an influential Pakistani cleric who is also on the ISNA roster.

Masood, a "mufti" qualified to issue religious laws, is scheduled to speak on a panel about "avoiding mental illness in youth," including how parents "can prevent or minimize the impact of any trauma leading to a mental illness."

The topic is an unusual fit for Masood, given his past advocacy of child marriage.

According to multiple Pakistani media reports, Masood in 2021 admitted in a sermon that he forced his 13-year-old niece into marriage, and advised his followers to do the same with their young female relatives. Masood also said it was a husband's decision whether or not his wife can go to college or must remain a housewife, citing Sharia, or Islamic religious law. In 2024, Canadian activists urged the government to block Masood's visa to the country over his "pedophilic rhetoric."

Masood has also promoted inflammatory views about Jews.

In a 2024 sermon titled "The Final Humiliation of the Jews," Masood said, according to translations of the event, that Jews' "cunning minds" had worked to bring the world under their control.

The terrorists realized that Michigan voters might not appreciate Islam's views on forced child marriage, so they disinvited this guy.

But they're keeping the Holocaust denier. On that hill they will of course die force their children to stand on so that they may be killed as propaganda puppets.

A Pakistani cleric who admitted to forcing his 13-year-old niece into marriage will no longer appear at the Islamic Society of North America's annual convention, where Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is scheduled to speak over Labor Day weekend. But El-Sayed will still share the stage with plenty of controversial speakers, including Islamic scholars who have called the Holocaust a "hoax," accused Israel of bankrolling ISIS, and defended the practice of sex slavery and marital rape.

Tariq Masood was slated to speak on a panel about youth mental health but "is no longer speaking at the convention," ISNA said Monday following a Washington Free Beacon report on the influential cleric, who has defended child marriage and admitted that he forced his young niece to get married, remarks that prompted Canadian activists to urge their government to block Masood's visa to the country in 2024 over his "pedophilic rhetoric." The report stoked outcry against El-Sayed, who has sought to cast Republicans as "pedophile protectors" for allegedly blocking the release of Jeffrey Epstein files.

While Masood seems to have crossed a rhetorical red line for ISNA and El-Sayed, the convention will still feature a number of speakers with records of extremism. That could further fuel concerns about El-Sayed's connections to Islamic extremists. El-Sayed, who is running against Republican Mike Rogers, has already faced scrutiny over his father-in-law Tayeb Jukaku's position on the founding committee of ISNA, which the federal government identified as a public-facing group for the Muslim Brotherhood and linked to the financing of Hamas, the Free Beacon reported.

Texas-based imam Yasir Qadhi, who will appear on several panels over the weekend, has called the Holocaust a "hoax" and said Adolf Hitler "never intended to mass-destroy the Jews." He currently works as a booker on the Tucker Carlson podcast.

AbdulNasir Jangda, another Texas-based cleric who will speak on a panel with Qadhi, has defended the practice of sex slavery and said that husbands have a right under Islamic law to rape their wives, according to reports.

Other convention speakers include Siraj Wahhaj, a New York-based imam who was an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

El-Sayed's father-in-law is a founder of an Islamic terror group.

Abdul El-Sayed's father-in-law, a top donor to a super PAC supporting the left-wing Michigan Senate hopeful, is among the top leaders of an Islamic organization identified by the federal government as a public facing group for the Muslim Brotherhood, a Washington Free Beacon review found. As part of his role with the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which the federal government linked to the financing of Hamas, Tayeb Jukaku contributes at least $5,000 to the organization annually.

Jukaku has served on the 20-member founding committee of ISNA since at least 2007, according to the organization's magazine, Islamic Horizons, and has been a member of the group for a "long time, cannot recall [when I joined]," according to Jukaku's online bio. Federal prosecutors identified the organization as an unindicted co-conspirator in the landmark 2007 terrorist financing case USA v. Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, which culminated in the conviction of the foundation's founders for funneling $12 million to Hamas. They also identified the ISNA as one of eight entities "who are and/or were members of the US Muslim Brotherhood."

Not just his father-in-law -- his mother is a terrorist, too.

Jacqueline El-Sayed married El-Sayed's father, Mohamed El-Sayed, not long after he immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1980s with Fatten Fathy Elkomy, the U.S. Senate candidate's birth mother.

"They ended up getting divorced," El-Sayed said of his birth parents during a 2017 speech before the Islamic Foundation. "And my mother, she remarried a gentleman who was working as a translator in the Middle East and moved back to the Middle East."

From 1999 through at least 2004, Elkomy worked for the Islamic American Relief Agency, also known as the Islamic African Relief Agency, which operated over 40 offices throughout the world ostensibly focused on health care, orphans, and disadvantaged people in areas of conflict.

In October 2004, the U.S. Department of Treasury designated the worldwide network, along with five senior officials, as an organization supporting terrorism, including support for Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks carried out by al-Qaeda that killed nearly 3,000 Americans.

It's almost as if all of these people have deep ties to the worldwide Islamic terror network and are infiltrated into the US to subvert it from the inside.

El-Sayed is now trailing Republican Mike Rogers -- but only by a smidge.

CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten warned Democrats their Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed is "historically unpopular" and could be throwing a "lifeline" to Republicans.

Enten broke down numbers out of Michigan's Senate race on Friday and highlighted some "troubling" figures for Republicans hoping to defeat Republican Mike Rogers. El-Sayed, a progressive Democrat, recently won his primary against Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI).

Citing a Fox News survey, Enten noted Rogers is leading El-Sayed by four points overall and five points among independents (the poll has a margin of error of three points).

This, he argued, is "extremely unusual" and highlights how unpopular El-Sayed is as a candidate:

This is extremely unusual because across the political map, as I was looking at these different Fox News polls, I couldn't find another example where the Republican was actually leading among independents.

And it turns out that candidate quality may in fact, matter, at least in terms of how voters see it, because in this same poll, the Democratic candidate for governor was ahead. So this is unique to the Senate race, and it is quite a troubling result for Democrats and quite a heartening one for Republicans.

El-Sayed, he added, is a "weak candidate," especially when you stack his net favorability against other Democrats in battleground states races.
