The Morning Report — 8/ 11 /26

Good morning kids.

First up there are reports from of a massive earthquake that rocked Colombia yesterday morning. Prayers up for all those affected and for rescue and recovery crews.

The Geological Service of Colombia confirmed a magnitude 7.4 earthquake rocking the country around 7:34 a.m. local time in the western region of Chocó, potentially causing significant damage. . . In the city of Cali, locals documented buildings with their windows broken and streets covered in glass and other debris.

Yikes, 7.4 is pretty damn significant. I have not seen any follow ups so hopefully things are under control and the people are getting on with the business of life as they dig out and begin the process of rebuilding and recovery. Considering the aftershocks of the political earthquake that led to the ejection of Commie strongman Gustavo Petro just a short while ago, it will certainly be a test for the newly elected government to see how fast and effectively it can respond. I'm sure President Trump will be quick to offer whatever assistance we can, as would be right and proper all things considered. One of the truly shining successes of the Trump administration has been his stunning success in turning much of Latin America away from the disaster of socialist rule as can especially be seen in Argentina and El Salvador just to name two countries that are now effectively in the Trump/freedom camp.

Unfortunately, the rest of the world is devolving into tyranny. Most notably England, from whence America emerged just 250 short years ago. Here are two horrible stories coming from across the pond that illustrate its rapid disintegration.

First, shopping can ruin one's day...

One social media user questioned whether carrying a baseball bat from a store should be treated as suspicious, writing, “Assuming this is all innocent. Are people not allowed to play baseball on the fields anymore? We may as well ban anything that potentially can be used as a weapon, which is most things in shops.” Another user argued apparently sincerely that the officer's response was understandable given the circumstances. “To be fair I wouldn't be happy seeing a guy just roaming around with a baseball bat in a densely packed public place, package or no package. copper decided to err on the side of caution and probably asked him to hand the bat over many times before it got to this point.”

Yeah, a bloke toting around a packaged and sealed baseball bat is a clear and present danger, but roving bands of Muslim males prowling for girls and women to rape, that's in the deepest traditions of civilization, so how dare you!

And if you even raise an eyebrow let alone open your pie-hole . . . Yeah that neanderthal, primitive dangerous thing known as freedom of speech, about that...

The National Internet Intelligence Investigations unit notified local police about 106 posts, with 50 of those flagged in June alone, in the aftermath of disclosures surrounding the murder of teenager Henry Nowak. Nowak was stabbed to death by Vikrum Digwa, and his pleas for help were reportedly ignored by officers who doubted the dying student after his killer claimed to be a victim of racism.

It was a true period piece. One year before Wisconsin gubernatorial hopeful Francesca Hong called to "Cancel Thanksgiving," the socialist state representative, who is a professional chef, in October 2019 hosted an event she dubbed a "Feast of the Feminine," a "6course [sic] dinner inspired by menstruation." An invitation posted to the events website Eventbrite describes the "feast" as a "celebration of menstruation with conversation and dinner." It also lists a menu featuring on-theme ingredients like "Soondae-Korean blood sausage."

• The earthquake has already prompted at least one aftershock recorded at upwards of magnitude four. Locals in Chocó, Cali, and throughout the west of the country had recorded alarming videos of buildings swaying, their windows crashing down and leaving trails of debris on the streets. At press time, however, authorities have not documented any deaths, though local officials in Chocó warned that they expect a high number of casualties.
