"PRIDE" Goeth for Its Long-Awaited Fall

"Ally" corporations have abandoned pRiDe and gay supremacists are very upset.

We knew corporations would abandon Pride. It still hurts.

The brands that are backing away from Pride Month are doing exactly what we knew they would do all along -- support LGBTQ+ people only as long as it was profitable.

At the start of June, I stopped by Target while running errands in the SoHo neighborhood of New York. The store had just set out its summer merchandise, displaying an array of clothes, accessories and sunscreens nestled within a series of red arches.

As I hurried past tank tops and patterned shorts toward the pet section, I stopped to look at the Pride collection.

There wasn't much -- a single display of generic rainbow-colored shirts and home goods rested toward the back of the store, with no signs declaring June to be LGBTQ+ Pride Month.

I realized at that moment that in spite of the fact that I live in New York City, and in spite of the fact that I am part of the LGBTQ+ community, I hadn't seen many corporate advertisements related to this year's celebration. I think I know why.

Companies are done using Pride Month for profits

It seems that the era of rainbow capitalism that has endured since Obergefell v. Hodges made same-sex marriage the law of the land in 2015 is no longer a guaranteed moneymaker for brands, leading them to downsize their efforts or abandon them altogether.

As conservatism rears its head across the country and corporations ditch diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, there is suddenly no incentive to support the LGBTQ+ community.

I hate to say it, but we told you this would happen.

Rainbow capitalism, the process of brands and corporations profiting off of the LGBTQ+ community, was never going to save us. There is no world where a JPMorgan Chase & Co. sponsorship at New York City's annual Pride March was going to solve homophobia in the United States. There was never a time when a cheaply made T-shirt was going to lead to equity.

The brands that are backing away from Pride Month are doing exactly what we knew they would do all along -- support LGBTQ+ people only as long as it was profitable. Now that there is less support, the community is reminded of why Pride began in the first place.

To endlessly hector and humiliate normies who just want to be left in peace without your constant shrieking, hysteria, and narcissistic insistence on "centering" yourself in all things?

From a marketing perspective, it makes sense that Pride Month is no longer the big event it once was several years ago. Support for same-sex marriage has declined, according to a recent Gallup poll. Fewer people believe that same-sex partnerships are "morally acceptable." Support for transgender rights has gone down.

You kept making more and more extravagant demands, testing people's inclination to be "nice" to avoid confrontation, until those demands became so oppressive they stopped being "nice."

This is entirely on you. Or, it's entirely on the gay grifter activist class, who can only justify their phony-baloney jobs by making greater and greater claims on the public's sympathies and attention so they can show they're "getting results" for their $300,000 per year jobs.

Until the public gets sick of the endless extortion campaign and starts saying "No."

This is the direct result of orchestrated attacks by Republicans on LGBTQ+ rights, particularly trans rights, during Trump's second ascent to the presidency.

No, Trump's second ascent to the presidency is because of your ever-escalating demands on the public.

Thank you for that, by the way. We couldn't have done it without you. Unlike the left, we don't have to create monsters to scare the public with -- they actually exist, and won't shut the fuck up in harassing the public.

Trans people no longer have access to accurate gender markers on their passports. Trans children have lost access to gender-affirming care. Trans women were barred from competing on sports teams that align with their gender.

Do you even hear yourself?

According to the Gallup poll, Republicans are the ones whose support for same-sex marriage and trans rights has waned in recent years. For some reason, they are the ones dictating culture in the United States, leading to fewer Pride collections in stores and decreasing corporate support at festivals.

Absolultely. We thought we could appease you but you demonstrated again and again that you were unappeasable and each fresh concession we granted you just encouraged further aggression. You know, like a communist dictator or Islamic conqueror.

The Gay Lobby assured us, over and over, that "gay marriage will have no effect on your life at all." When objectors said "gay marriage will lead to demands for 'trans acceptance' next, you called those people liars and said that will never, ever happen.

Well, you fucking lied. You lied and lied and lied until you got what you wanted, then you began making the exact kind of demands that people said you'd make when you got what you said you wanted.

And you're surprised people are fed up with your bullshit?

Even if it's unsurprising that corporations are backing away from rainbow capitalism, and even though many within the LGBTQ+ community feel at odds with the commercialization of a celebration that started as a protest, it stings to see Pride transform in this way.

Oh no, they "commercialized" Pride Month. Is nothing sacred?

Christmas, sure, but PRIDE MONTH?!?!!

Check out the massive civil rights violations that gay people in "rural and suburban communities" now face:

... For LGBTQ+ people in rural and suburban communities, stores like Target are some of the only options for buying Pride apparel. In reducing their support for Pride Month and the LGBTQ+ community, these stores are reducing access for people who want to celebrate who they are.

Do you have access to... Amazon.com, praychance?

This is the flipside of the evermore-intrusive demands the gay mafia makes -- the violations they claim to suffer go in the opposite direction, getting tinier and tinier until they are so small their existence, due to Heisenberg Uncertainty, can't even be said to be real.

Meanwhile, they continue actually oppressing everyone who doesn't feel like wearing their gay identifiers:

OUTRAGE: The MLB is getting absolutely BLASTED online as BOYCOTTS continue to mount after the league "warned" San Francisco Giants players for their "violation" of writing Bible verses on their caps during pride night caps.

"The writing on the cap violates our rules and consistent with normal practice we have warned the players about future violations," MLB Chief Communications Officer Pat Courtney said in a statement Monday.

The MLB attempted to BACKTRACK in a new statement on Tuesday writing: "To be clear, this routine verbal warning not to wear the hat in future games is not disciplinary and had absolutely nothing to do with the content of the message. We respect players' right to free expression."

"However, writing of any kind, with any message, is prohibited per Major League Baseball's Uniform Regulations which provides in part that, '[a] Player may not write, attach, affix, embroider or otherwise display nicknames or messages on apparel or playing equipment.'"

"We have given the same warning numerous times in the past to players for messages such as 'Dad', 'Happy Mother's Day, I Love Mom' and names of family members."

Uh-huh.

Except you're here compelling people to speak a message they disagree with.

I think all minorities should bear it in mind that when you're given temporary power over another group -- like the majority -- and immediately begin using that power to bully, harass, coerce and oppress, when the majority takes that power back, they're going to remember what you believed to be completely-appropriate uses of power when you had the whip-hand, and they're going to use that power, too.

And they won't feel guilty about it, either, because you established the precedent for the bullying and harassment permitted to those with the cultural power.
