Army Veteran Violently Assaulted Because He Decorated His House with Trump Flags Dies on Memorial Day

He was beaten so badly he died within days.

The owner of a heavily decorated pro-Trump home in Southern California has died days after he was beaten to a pulp allegedly by a Navy veteran.

Kerry Sheron, a 69-year-old Army veteran known locally for covering his residence with MAGA banners and American flags, died Sunday night after nearly a week hospitalized in critical condition.

The attack happened May 20 outside Sheron's home in Escondido, police said.

Prosecutors allege 32-year-old Thomas Caleb Butler attacked Sheron in what officials described as an unprovoked assault.

Butler, who has been described in local reports as a Navy veteran, has pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted murder, elder abuse, criminal threats and battery.

"It was a single punch to the jaw," Garcia said. "The victim then falls to the floor, and there are subsequent hits to the victim's head area."

Security footage obtained by local media allegedly showed Sheron standing outside his Buchanan Street home before the suspect approached and attacked him. A nearby witness reportedly attempted to intervene before the suspect fled the area on foot.

In the days before Sheron's death, his wife, Maria, gave an emotional update, telling reporters there was "no hope" for her husband as he remained hospitalized with devastating injuries.

She also said the family had been preparing for the worst after doctors warned that Sheron's condition had rapidly deteriorated due to severe head trauma.

Now, I'll be honest, I don't think too much about complaints about anyone on either side "politicizing" deaths. Deaths are, either factually or arguably, a consequence of policy choices. I don't think it's out of bounds to point out that someone's policies result in excess deaths.

But this I do object to: Posting this on Memorial Day. Memorial Day is for honoring those who gave all in defense of the country, not puppeteering their bodies to make political ads.

They had nothing good to say about the dead of war until they caught hell for only seeing the honored dead in terms of political propaganda.

But what can we expect? Every single Christmas, the Democrats use the day of Christ's birth to tell us that Akshually Jesus endorsed every single plank of the modern Democrat Party, especially MuH aBoRtiOnzzz.

The Democrats are enemies of everything wholesome, virtuous, good and normal, and I don't think I want to share a country with them any longer.

Incivility is at the heart of the problem. Liberals love to pretend that Donald Trump invented incivility, but he's more a symptom than a source. Trump did not devise the personal attack in politics, though he may have perfected it. A gunman was killed in a shootout with the Secret Service outside the White House on Saturday, after officials said he took out a gun and started firing at officers.

What we know:

The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the area of 17th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue around 6 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the U.S. Secret Service, a person walked up to a security checkpoint, pulled a handgun out of his bag, and started firing at officers. Officers shot back, hitting the suspect. A male bystander was also hit and suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Paramedics took the gunman to the hospital and later died, the Secret Service confirmed. Police have identified the suspect as Nasire Best, 21, of Maryland.

Near nonstop political violence by the left against the right is pretty incivil, isn't it, Mike?
