LA School Superintendent Raid Update: He's an "Undocumented Immigrant" and He's Being Investigated for Stealing School Funds

You may remember a post yesterday evening about the LA School Superintendent whose home and offices were raided by the FBI. People were guessing what the probe might be about.

Well, he's an illegal alien who has been working in the US for 20 years, and on top of that, he sure seems very, very rich for a public " " " servant " " ".

This article does not say he's being investigated for embezzlement of school funds but the facts sure do suggest that.

Embattled Alberto Carvalho's multi-million dollar real estate portfolio revealed as LAUSD corruption probe rumbles on

LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho has an extensive real estate portfolio, with more than $6.3 million in properties across California and Florida, The California Post learned.

The revelation comes as the embattled schools chief is dealing with federal officials raiding his office, Los Angeles home, and a Miami property tied to the investigation. The raids are tied to allegations of fraud and corruption, a source told The Post.

They're using the word "corruption," which can mean a lot of things, but I think it's clear they mean misappropriation of public funds and/or kickbacks from contractors. A high-ranking school official has a lot of juicy, rich contracts to spread around, you know.

Carvalho owns at least six homes in Florida's Broward County and one in Los Angeles along with his wife, Maria. The schools head used to be Miami-Dade County Public Schools' Superintendent for more than a decade before joining LAUSD in 2022.

His main 3-bed, 3-bath San Pedro home is worth about $1.6 million, according to Zillow. The multi-floor single-family home is around 2,000 square feet.

Carvalho's most valuable home, according to Zillow, is his 5-bed, 4-bath Miami Shores home. It's valued at $2.4 million and has 3,576 square feet of space. He also owns two Miami condos worth around $1.4 million combined, per Zillow.

The LAUSD schools head earns $440,000 per year, and signed a new four-year contract last year.

Three more homes in Fort Lauderdale come in at around $1.3 million combined.

The investigation is reportedly tied to a failed AI company called AllHere, which created a chatbot program for LAUSD with Carvalho at the helm, the program was later pulled.

Ah. So he diverted taxpayer funds to pay himself for a failed AI chatbot program.

Unbelievable. This is the kind of blatant self-dealing that Republicans almost never attempt, not because we're saints, but we know that we, unlike protected Democrats especially of the Oppressed Minority variety, would be instantly punished.

The home at the center of the Miami raid belongs to Debra Kerr, one of the leaders of AllHere.

Born in Portugal as one of six children, Carvalho was the only of his siblings to graduate high school. He came to the United States at age 17 as an undocumented immigrant.

While Carvalho keeps his personal life largely private, the Miami Herald reported that he was married to Maria Florio Borgia Carvalho and the couple has a daughter.

Carvalho has also been outspoken on immigration issues.

At a September 2025 news conference, he said students and families should be protected from "immoral, unethical and illegal actions" while referring to ICE raids in LA, describing an "unbearable lack of humanity."

In July 2025, he criticized ICE agents for allegedly urinating on the grounds of a Pico Rivera school, calling it a "new level of despicable insult."

Carvalho faced scrutiny before arriving in Los Angeles.

In 2020, while school superintendent in Miami, the district's Office of the Inspector General reviewed a $1.57 million donation made to a nonprofit he chaired, the Foundation for New Education Initiatives. The office questioned the timing and oversight of the contribution, asking that the donation be returned.

Weird how he keeps directing taxpayer money towards entities he controls or owns.

In 2008, Carvalho, then a senior Miami-Dade school official, was linked to a series of suggestive emails with Miami Herald reporter Tania deLuzuriaga while he was married. The emails included flirtatious messages such as "Will you be completely offended if I jump into your arms the next time I see you?" and expressions like "Love, love, love you. xoxoxo." The messages surfaced publicly after he was named superintendent, and he denied having an affair.

In 2025, former LAUSD Superintendent Austin Beutner and several students sued the district, alleging that approximately $77 million in Proposition 28 funds intended for arts and music education were misused. The LAUSD denied wrongdoing and said it is clarifying compliance with state requirements.
