Sleepy Joe's Birthday
El Rushbo used to call him "Plugs" Biden. I can think of a whole bunch of things to call him, but I won't. Anyway, today is his 83rd birthday. I have no wishes for him, good or bad. How about we just enjoy some of his "greatest" moments?
The Presidential dream was one Biden kept alive for years, and as early as 1984 he was tipped to be a Democratic candidate. Following his announcement for candidacy in 1987, Biden was outlined as one of the stronger hopefuls. However this hope wasn’t reflected in the primaries and his performance in the first in Houston, Texas in July received a mixed bag of responses.
Richard Gephardt and Michael Dukakis were Biden’s main rivals for the Democratic ticket in the election, and by August 1987 both were ahead of his. The following month, on September 12, stories were ran in the New York Times and other large publications about a controversy that would bring Joe Biden’s campaign to a grinding halt.
The reports were damning and suggested that Biden had used extracts of a speech made by the Labour Party leader at the Welsh Labour Party Conference in 1985 in his own.
81 million votes in 2020. Don't ever forget it, and don't you DARE question it!

Speaking of Curmudgeons
Yeah, ol' Scranton Joe could certainly be a grump. Coincidentally, on today's Morning Report thread, commenters were talking about curmudgeons. That inspired me feature some rather grouchy folks here tonight. Just a few of the ones I thought of.
Archie Bunker
Mr. Roper (master of breaking the 4th wall)
Grandpa Simpson
Walter!
Hit up the comments to let us know who else fits the bill.

On This Date in History
Avid readers of Compute! magazine may remember this historic event that occurred 40 years ago today.
Windows 1.0 officially released to the public 40 years ago today (November 20), and despite its age, still has some common similarities with what users can expect from the operating system today.
Underpinned by the iconic MS-DOS command line, Windows 1.0 is notable in that it specifically required a computer mouse to navigate the graphical user interface (GUI). When the operating system first launched in the US it cost $99, equivalent to just over $296 in today’s dollars.
