Trump Invites Former Navy SEAL and Army Ranger to Primary Flaky Libertarian Saboteur Thomas Massie

President Donald Trump has officially thrown down the gauntlet in Kentucky, calling on former Navy SEAL and Army Ranger Ed Gallrein to challenge Rep. Thomas Massie in the 2026 Republican primary -- and promising his "Complete and Total Endorsement" if Gallrein enters the race.

In a fiery Truth Social post Friday night, Trump tore into Massie, calling him a "Weak and Pathetic RINO" who routinely sides with Democrats against America First priorities. "Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love, and won big SIX TIMES, must be thrown out of office, ASAP!" Trump wrote. The president praised Gallrein as a "true America First Patriot," highlighting his background as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and fifth-generation Kentucky farmer. "A Brave Combat Veteran, Ed knows the Wisdom and Courage required to Defend our Country, Support our Military/Veterans, and Ensure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH," Trump said, adding that Gallrein "will fight tirelessly to Keep our now very Secure Border, SECURE, Stop Migrant Crime, and Defend our always under siege Second Amendment."

Trump also made clear that Gallrein's experience as a businessman and farmer makes him the kind of results-driven leader Congress needs. "He knows how to Create GREAT Jobs, Cut Taxes and Regulations, Promote MADE IN THE U.S.A., Support our Amazing Farmers and American Agriculture, Unleash American Energy Dominance, and Champion our Nation's Golden Age," Trump continued. Calling Massie a "totally ineffective LOSER," Trump declared, "CAPTAIN ED GALLREIN IS A WINNER WHO WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN... RUN, ED, RUN -- MAGA!"

Gallrein, in a statement to Breitbart News, expressed gratitude for Trump's support and hinted at an announcement soon. "I'm honored by President Trump's support," he said. "He is doing an amazing job securing the border, lowering taxes, and making America great again. I will make an announcement on what's next soon!"
