The Morning Report — 2/ 18 /25

Rush4yearson.jpg

Good morning kids. Before diving into the links, just a reminder to my fellow Wisconsinites that today is a primary election day and the most crucial race is for a seat on the state supreme court. We must get out and get Brad Schimel on the court. It could have crucial impact on state and national races going forward especially if we lose the court. Could mean the loss of one or two congressional seats. I know it's brutally cold out there but bundle up and get to the polls.

Important UPDATE. Commenter Eagle WI corrects my mistake:

WI State Supreme Court primary is not until next month. Today's primary is for State Superintendent of Public Instruction. They try to make it as confusing as possible so Republicans don't know when to vote.

Elsewhere, yet another airliner incident, this time up in Toronto where an Air Canada jet managed to flip on its back and injure 18 people.

Meanwhile, the campaign to defang the Deep State bureaucracy continues apace. The significance of this cannot be overstated in that money. That is our money is the very lifeblood that has funds our enslavement and destruction going back decades, which is part and parcel of the Democrats two century campaign to seize absolute power. DOGE and MAGA are for all the marbles. That's not say that Evil will ever give up, because sadly that is not human nature. But denying them the chance to metastasize is what this is about. And the money funds future generations of braindead leftist zombies so taking down the Education/brainwashing apparatus at the Dept of Ed for starters, and then each of us doing our part by involving ourselves in every school district will go along way towards the long prayed for American renaissance.

Make no mistake, the recalcitrant, resistors, saboteurs, scum and traitors that are still embedded in the government will not go quietly:

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on Monday accused the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of targeting him with a politically motivated audit in the last days of the Biden regime, calling the move a “total sham.”

“Of course the outgoing Biden IRS rushed an ‘audit’ of the incoming SecDef,” Hegseth wrote on his official X account, adding: “Total sham.” Hegseth included a photo of an IRS document stating that he and his wife Jennifer owed the government $33,558.16. The IRS said the sum needed to be paid immediately to avoid further penalties. . .

. . . While the details of the IRS case against Hegseth remain sketchy, the incident is reminiscent of how the IRS was weaponized against political enemies during the Obama era.

Beginning in 2010, the IRS began targeting conservatives groups for audits and excessive tax-exempt scrutiny.

Whoever is running the IRS needs to shut this crap down now. And, I do not know if they were granted immunity by Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants Biden as he was carted out of the White House, but Lois Lerner and John Koskinen and all their immediate underling little Eichmann apparatchiks need to be investigated and prosecuted out the wazoo until they wind up in a Federal Prison for the rest of their miserable existences.

And of course, as the estimable Margot Cleveland observes, the locus of the battle will once again be in the courts, which by their nature are biased and corrupt in the main as much or most of the rest of the government, at the state and federal levels.

More than a dozen blue states which sued Elon Musk and DOGE on Thursday will push for an injunction against the Trump Administration later this morning. If granted, the temporary restraining order, or TRO, will immediately halt the president and the federal agencies’ ongoing efforts to cut waste, fraud, and the embedded members of the bureaucratic resistance. And unlike the various TROs entered to date in other cases which served merely as paper nuisances, a TRO freezing out Musk and DOGE would be devasting — both to the president’s agenda and our constitutional structure.

On Thursday, fourteen states filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk, DOGE (the Department of Government Efficiency), and President Donald Trump in a federal district court in Washington, D.C. The lawsuit, New Mexico v. Musk, alleged Musk, “an unelected, unconfirmed government official, is exercising unprecedented executive authority in violation the Appointments Clause of the Constitution.”

. . . The Trump Administration sensed as much too, responding to the states’ proposed TRO within hours, entreating the Court to, if it “is inclined to grant the States’s request,” delay any action until it could hold a hearing on Monday morning, to “allow Defendants sufficient time to submit a fuller response.” On Sunday, apparently acquiescing to the brief delay, Judge Chutkan entered an order setting an 11:00 a.m. hearing on the case. While the Trump Administration’s weekend response was, by necessity, abbreviated, it nonetheless concisely established why no injunction — much less the overbroad and legally unsupported version sought by the blue states — should be granted.

per the equally estimable Daniel Greenfield:

In the weeks since President Trump took office, federal judges have arrogated to themselves the authority to control how the government spends money, whether the government can issue orders to government personnel and even the content displayed on government websites.

Federal judges have claimed that the White House can’t offer buyouts to federal employees, can’t fire political appointees from the previous administrations, can’t pause funding, can’t cut funds to government programs, can’t change formulas allocating government grants and also can’t remove transgender ideology from government websites put there by its predecessors.

And if the White House doesn’t even control government websites, what does it control?

Conversely, federal judges can control any and all of these things at their whim and will. And that means that they control everything and that actual elected officials control nothing at all.

In the aftermath of a landslide election, government unions have contended that the Department of Government Efficiency should not be able to access federal databases and that USAID and potentially other unwanted parts of the federal government cannot be restructured.

Federal judges have mostly agreed that the government ought to be run by judges for the benefit of government employees and that the people who elected Trump have no say in it.

Greenfield's headline and subhead say it all really, "Judicial Coup: Federal judges are illegally seizing power by blocking Trump’s policies."

This is inarguable, to which I ask yet again, does Trump have not only the stones to go tell the Judiciary all the way up to SCOTUS to piss up the rope they are trying to hang him with but the juice to do so.

Let; say for argument's sake he declares the Courts out of order and instructs al agencies to ignore any ruling from any bench that contravenes his Executive powers. What will be the reaction of his cabinet heads and of the employees under them? We know how the Democrats and RINOs will react? What can they do in practical terms?

In other words, how many divisions do they have?

But that said, in the tragic event that another Democrat is elected, legitimately or otherwise like 2020, again? Doesn't what Trump did set a very dangerous precedent?

I suppose what I'm driving that is that regardless of all of this, is this not an indication that Trump or no Trump, America as it was supposed to function no longer does and indeed no longer even exists. A judicial coup indeed, and as the stolen election of 2020 proves as well as the persecution via the DOJ and false flag phony insurrection planned in part or completely by Pelosi Garland and Wray perhaps with McConnell, an actual coup that the miracle of last November has exposed, if not reversed. That will depend upon whether DOGE has the power to withstand the resistance and if Trump has a party behind him to actually pass legislation that will withstand challenges from the aforementioned corrupted courts.

Institutions and prtocol/tradition etc. are only as legitimate as the morals and ethics of those who swear to uphold and defend them.

On the international front. J.D.Vance is making all the right heads explode as the Germans are shown as the lousy hypo-krauts that they are vis a vis censorhsip, which is funny considering Eric Adams is now the one invoking Hitler.

And, As Trump is moving to end the bloody stalemate between Ukraine and Russia before this can expand into a continent wide if not global war all to enrich the military industrial complex here and abroad, he has lifted the embargo on heavy weapons to Israel. In particular, heavy aerial bombs.

On top of that, this from Team Trump:

National security adviser Mike Waltz on “Fox News Sunday” reacted to a news report from last week that indicated Israel is likely to strike Iran’s nuclear program by saying that President Donald Trump will never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.Waltz was asked about what the U.S. involvement would be in a strike on Iran, given that Israel might need U.S. assistance with destroying Iran’s underground facilities.

“I can speak to what the president has repeatedly said and that is Iran can never have a nuclear weapon,” Waltz said. “That not only would be existential for Israel, I think it would be existential for the entire world, because it could kick off a nuclear arms race in the Middle East.”

. . . He concluded, “I’ll promise you this: President Trump is absolutely serious, deadly serious, when he says Iran can never have a nuke, and certainly not on President Trump’s watch; they are an irrational actor that we cannot allow to have their finger on the button.”

I assume this plus shipping the IDF heavy ordnance would seem to indicate that Trump has given Bibi the green light to administer a giant Qom shot to the mullahs.

And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

Have a great day and remember my fellow Wisconsinites, get out and vote!
