Good afternoon and welcome to the almost world famous Ace of Spades Pet Thread. Thanks for stopping by. Kick back and enjoy the world of animals.

Would you like a treat?

Let's relax a little with the animals and leave the world of politics and current events outside today.

A Remarkable Cat Story

Last week, gourmand du jour left us a message in the comments to the Thread before the Gardening Thread, which I missed until too late for last week.

28: I may miss all the other threads today due to various necessary activities, but I do hope the pet thread will include this story of the cat who disappeared at Yellowstone and somehow made its way to Roseville, CA (~800 miles) and was reunited with its people in Salinas.

Cat left at Yellowstone makes way back to Northern California

A California family is surprised after their beloved cat Rayne Beau vanished on a trip to Yellowstone National Park and likely trekked around 800 miles back toward home before being found.

The couple, Susanne and Benny Anguiano, told KSBW in Salinas that they had taken their cats on previous trips, but that this time, something scared Rayne Beau and he ran off into the forest in early June.

The Anguianos spent their days searching for Rayne Beau but ultimately had to make the decision to return home without him. . .

Rayne Beau was likely already heading home on his own. Two months after that June trip, a woman in Roseville found Rayne Beau and took him to the local SPCA, where they were able to get information from his microchip and contact the owners.

“This lady who found him and rescued him, she’s just an angel. She even said he looked like he was not going to make it much longer,” Susanne said.

From Yellowstone to Roseville is about 835 miles, and just another 200 miles separates Roseville from Salinas. . .

He lost 40% of his body weight on the trip. There may be before and after photos if you dare follow a link to Facebook.

Tough cat ! Dedicated Cat! Dedicated humans, too!

Speaking of poultry, here's a chance to recognize these noble birds:

Have chickens? Know someone who has chickens?

Here's a chicken-themed quilt.

Murphy and Max having to share the back seat and giving me the stink eye about how unhappy they are.

Not sure who sent this in, but Murphy and Max look like great dogs!

Video:

long-haired blonde bitch

She was christened Marilyn Monroe eight months ago, but we call her MOMO, and she wiggles her ass and walks with a swagger that is irresistible!

That's my bed she's appropriated . . . every night!

EliBro

And MOMO talks, too! Charming!

bonzo oo.jpg

Meet Bonzo, a feral cat who likes to nap on my couch. We’re about three months into feeling each other out. He’s a good little fellow, but I’ve only let him sleep inside overnight one time. I think I’ll start with an outdoor home for him, and then see what a Chicago winter brings.

Thanks for the Pet Morons weekly thread. I am a regular lurker.

Bonzo looks like a "Bonzo". Lucky cat to have found you.

new pupp hadriann.jpg

This is our most recent arrival. Fitz (Soyara's Justart Son of Fortune) is a four-month-old puppy from an "oops" litter in California out of Delilah's sister Dot (Ch. Soyara's Crowning Glory).

Fitz is cute as a button, very friendly and is learning quickly about the perquisites and privileges of being a house dog.

Hadrian the Seventh

Looks like a great pup! I noticed the toys . . .
