Opening Statement in Trump Persecution; Outside of Court, Trump Declares, "These are Biden Trials. Everyone knows it."
Yes, everyone knows it.
But 40% of the country is cheering it.
Arriving at the courthouse for the beginning of opening statements, former President Donald Trump blasted the New York criminal case against him as a politically motivated "Biden trial" designed to damage his chances in the upcoming November election.
Trump arrived in court in Manhattan on Monday morning, ahead of opening statements in his trial. Prosecutors for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office and Trump's defense attorneys are set to deliver their opening statements. Trump has blasted the trial as pure politics, a "political persecution" and maintains his innocence. "I just want to say before we begin -- these are all Biden trials," Trump said before opening statements were delivered Monday. "This is done as election interference. Everybody knows it."
...
Trump also pointed to New York Attorney General Letitia James' case, in which he was forced to post a $175 million bond and found liable for fraud by New York Judge Arthur Engoron after a months-long civil trial without a jury. Trump criticized James and Judge Engoron, calling the latter an "extremely crazed judge who is the most overturned judge in New York State."
Jake Tapper demanded that a CNN fact -- I mean, opinion-- checker fact-check Trump's opinions about the weakness of the Democrat prosecution.
From Newsbusters:
CNN's resident "fact checker" Daniel Dale usually shows his face on air when CNN wants to attack Donald Trump. On Thursday's The Lead with Jake Tapper, Dale confessed that Trump's statements during jury selection were mostly just opinion, but he mocked the "false conspiracy theory" that President Biden had something to do with Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg's prosecution, even though an Associate Attorney General joined Bragg's team.

JAKE TAPPER: Daniel, we just heard a little speech from Mr. Trump. What did you make of it? Did he say anything that was not true?
DANIEL DALE: He did. I mean, it was mostly uncheckable, subjective opinion, but he did say a few things that weren't quite right at very least. So he repeated his false conspiracy theory that essentially that Joe Biden is behind this case, which was brought by a locally elected [Democrat!] district attorney. He said Biden is behind it. He has his top people working with the DAs office to make sure everything goes right.
"A few things that weren't quite right" is now the standard for judging an opinion false.
Say Fake Jake, have you gotten around to fact-checking Biden's claim that his uncle was eaten by cannibals?
