Hunter Biden: Maintaining my sobriety is the key to preserving democracy.

So democracy's dead, then?

Hunter Biden suggested his fight to remain sober is intertwined with the 2024 election and keeping former President Donald Trump out of the White House.

The first son spoke to Axios about his struggles with addiction, particularly cocaine and alcohol, and how he "often" thinks about the "profound consequences of failure" if he were to relapse.

"Maybe it's the ultimate test for a recovering addict -- I don't know," Biden said, according to a report published on Monday. "I have always been in awe of people who have stayed clean and sober through tragedies and obstacles few people ever face. They are my heroes, my inspiration."

He also said, "I have something much bigger than even myself at stake. We are in the middle of a fight for the future of democracy."

So he's saying that what keeps him sober is his knowledge that if he goes back to the crack pipe, it damages his senile father's political chances and -- as you all know -- when Democrats lose elections, that means that Democracy Has Failed.

Assuming all of that is true: Who smuggled Hunter Biden's cocaine into the White House?

But drugs recently snagged headlines as the Department of Justice unveiled images of "apparent" cocaine and paraphernalia, after which Hunter Biden's lawyers argued prosecutors confused "lines of sawdust" for cocaine in one photo.

Oh, right, I didn't cover that, but Hunter Biden's lawyers are arguing that the cocaine found in his (illegally obtained) gun pouch was actually sawdust.

Sawdust that tested positive for cocaine.

He's scheduled to be interviewed by Congress about his Burisma schemes on Wednesday. We'll see if he shows up, or if he just crawls into a hole and smokes crack.

Rest assured: The Army is slashing the force because they need to "restructure" and prepare for the next major war.

The cuts are for empty spots, not actual troops because the Army can't even fill those spots in the first place.

The Army is structured to have roughly 494,000 troops however active-duty stands just at 445,000 right now.

The goal is to increase the total over the next five years to 470,000.

Based comedienne Chrissy Mayr appeared at a comedy club. A radical leftist attacked the after-show meet-and-greet with pepper spray, causing physical distress not just to Mayr but to a very pregnant woman in attendance.

The baby is okay -- so far.

"There's an abundance of evidence that what I am claiming happened, happened," Gaines said.

"There's audio evidence, there's video evidence, there are eyewitnesses who were there at the time. Heck, the officer who sent me the email saying that the charges were unfounded was being held for ransom in the room with me."

"So I think this sets a terrible precedent, not just for conservatives or conservative speakers on college campuses like myself. This sets a terrible precedent for every single American. male, female, regardless of race, regardless of sexual orientation," she added.

"Because what our Department of Justice has now done by saying they can't do anything, they can't charge anyone involved here, is they're saying and honestly, they're encouraging, violence and violence against women, for that matter, and the infringement upon our First Amendment rights, our freedom of speech at that. So I think this is an abomination, really. That's how I feel."

Gaines said she felt like her life was under threat while she was held hostage overnight.

"Being held for ransom through the middle of the night in San Francisco by hundreds of protesters, you can only imagine the obscene and profane and heinous things that were being yelled at me, how I was being assaulted in ambush," she said. "I truly, in that moment, I feared for my life."

Claire McCaskill makes it explicit: the media must stop fact-checking Joe Biden, because people haven't "learned their lesson" and may just elect Trump for the third time.

"What everyone says when you travel, 'Well, you wouldn't elect him again, would you? Hasn't the country learned? You wouldn't ever give this guy power again, would you? Tell us that he's not going to be re-elected. Please, tell us you've learned your lesson.' So The only blemish on the great country of America worldwide is, in fact, Donald Trump."
