Yesterday, Fani Willis perjured herself absurdly, claiming she paid Sweetdick back for all the taxpayer money he spent on her for flights, cruises, and hotel rooms.
When asked if she could produce any bank withdrawal records showing she'd taken out money to pay him back, she began spamming out a series of perjurious claims to explain why no such records exist:
1, her Black Panther father told her that every woman should have a half a year's worth of cash stowed around the house.
2, she would overpay at Publix and other markets and get $40 or $60 cash back. Apparently, she wants us to believe that she shops so frequently that she can rapidly accumulate the $2500 needed to pay Sweetdick back for one trip just by taking out a 20-spot here or there at Walgreen's or The Dollar Store.
3, and this is the headline story, she breezily admitted that she'd simply taken money she raised for her political campaign and simply converted it into her own private slushfund and Sex Stash.
FANI: When I took out a large amount of money on my first campaign, I kept some of the cash from that. pic.twitter.com/GaWwsnACwW
This admission of conversion of campaign funds, especially in cash, could land her in legal trouble of another kind. First off, most states forbid such personal conversions of campaign funds to anything other than another campaign. Does Georgia allow candidates to simply take the cash home and use it for personal purchases? I doubt it, but we may soon find out.
Second problem: Even if Georgia law allows such personal conversions of campaign cash to personal use, it raises an issue about Willis' income tax status. That cash would have to be reported to the IRS and Georgia's revenue office as income. Did Willis report that cash and pay taxes on it? Maybe, but we also heard about a tax lien on Willis' property that remained unresolved during the period that Willis claimed to be reimbursing Wade through her cash stash (or "hoard," as one of the other defense attorneys put it).
Hit the link to read that, for some reason I cannot fathom, the trial judge will be required to accept these lies as true because, I guess, there was no live witness to claim the opposite. That is -- I'm thinking -- the rule is that if one side puts on some evidence, and the other side does not rebut with any evidence, you have to give the issue to the side with some evidence?
Even if that "evidence" is obvious lies and self-serving alibis?
Ugh. That doesn't get Fani out of the woods entirely, because the judge will, I hope, point out that she was required by regulations to note every gift of more than $100 she received, which she did not do. She chose to pretend these gifts never happened, because she alleges she paid the gifts back with completely untraceable Phantom Cash that apparently was never from any place that keeps records.
By the way, this Strong and Empowered Hot Mess wore her dress backwards:
ok this my party trick 🥳
Adrianna Papell knit crepe tied knee length sheath dress, color camilla or caramilla, circa Nordstrom 2016ish, $129 with no discount, a tailor took in her shoulders and yes, she is wearing it backwards. https://t.co/iDiTBRWuZ3
The Fulton County DA had planned to call Fani back to the stand to cross-examine her -- in a positive way. They wanted to ask her friendly questions and improve her credibility. But they've apparently decided that this absolute wreck of an entitled bitch cannot be rehabilitated, so they're not calling her.
They called her Black Panther father, though. Presumably he lied to back her lie about telling her to always have enough cash on hand to buy not one but two engagement rings.
I don't know, I'm not watching today. I'm going to wait for the recaps later.
