Pro-Terror Accounts Now Claim That 10/7 Was a False Flag Attack Conducted by... Israel

I'm really tired of the "false flag" bullshit, from both the left and the right. Whenever something happens that damages one faction's political standing, some will begin claiming that this incident was actually conducted by the opposing faction in order to reduce the original faction's political standing.

Did a mass shooting cause problems for the right's (constitutionally correct) pro gun rights position? No problem, we'll just claim that the shooting was actually conducted by the left, in order to boost the polling for gun control by 2-3 points for 2-3 weeks.

It's so fucking stupid and ignorant. It's embarrassing. And it's always the same tired syllogism, with the same lack of evidence. The only evidence is this: This incident has set our cause back, therefore, our enemies actually perpetrated this incident to damage us.

And now, as Hamas and its allies realize just how badly their terror-rape offensive (in both senses of the word) has damaged their military and propaganda position, they begin claiming, "You know, it was really Israel who did this whole time, just to give them a false flag justification to invade Gaza.

The terrorists did this with 9/11, too: When 9/11 turned out to be not the opening shot in an Islamic revolution that would topple the west, but the shot that caused the toppling of Islamist terror states, terror apologists started taking the credit away from Osama bin Ladin, who they had just spent months lionizing as the Hero of 9/11, to claim that the hated Jews and Americans had akshually conducted the 9/11 attacks.

It's bleeding into the real world: Demonstrators have shouted the claim at anti-Israel protests and have used it to justify removing posters of hostages in cities like London and Chicago. At a November city council meeting in Oakland, Calif., multiple residents disputed the veracity of the attack...

"So basically the Hamas attack was a false flag for Israel to occupy Gaza and kill Palestinians," reads a recent post on the Reddit forum r/LateStageCapitalism. "Expected behaviour from nazi wannabes."

LateStageCapitalism is a community of left-wing activists that bills itself as "A One-Stop-Shop for Evidence of our Social, Moral and Ideological Rot."But the claim can be found elsewhere on the internet, including publications critical of Israel like Electronic Intifada and GrayZone, and in messaging groups like Monte's Uncensored Truths, which previously had been focused on pandemic-related gripes about vaccines and conspiratorial ideas about "globalists" ushering in a so-called New World Order. Right-wing Holocaust deniers also have latched onto the claims.

Sure, the "right-wing Holocaust deniers," all 200 of them, have to be mentioned so that the Washington Post's leftwing alliance partners don't have to bear this shame alone.
