The Week In Woke

Another victory for Havard's First True Scholar in History Claudia Gay: The school is telling its Jewish center to hide its menorah every night, because they know that Havard students will vandalize it, and Harvard doesn't want the bad PR.

The anti-Semitic vandalization is fine. But the bad press? Unacceptable.

Harvard forces a Jewish student group to hide its menorah each night after its lighting over fears of vandalism that "won't look good" for the Ivy League school, the rabbi of Harvard Chabad said.

"On our campus in the shadow of Widener Library, we in the Jewish community are instructed, 'We'll let you have the menorah, you made your point, OK. Pack it up, don't leave it out overnight because there will be criminal activity we fear and it won't look good'," Rabbi Hirschy Zarchi said at a Hanukkah lighting Wednesday night.

Nikole Hannah-Jones says that any criticism of Havard's historic first black woman, who was clearly hired only for her DEI checkbox value, is...

I mean, do I have to even finish the sentence? Your brains can autocomplete it, right?

Yes, so the stupid thing that stupid people always say, this stupid person said it.

Even CNN is noticing that Everything Woke Turns to Shit. Fareed Zakaria opined this past Sunday that universities no longer promote merit, only political agendas and "inclusion."

"[W]e have to understand the broad shift that has taken place at elite universities, which have gone from being centers of excellence to institutions pushing political agendas. People sense the transformation.

American universities have been neglecting a core focus on excellence in order to pursue a variety of agendas, many of them clustered around diversity and inclusion. It started with the best of intentions. Colleges wanted to make sure young people of all backgrounds had access to higher education and felt comfortable on campus. But those good intentions have morphed into a dogmatic ideology and turn these universities into places where the pervasive goals of political and social engineering, not academic merit. As the evidence produced for the recent Supreme Court case on affirmative action showed, universities have systematically downplayed merit based criteria for admissions in favor of racial quotas. Some universities' response to this ruling seems to be that they will go further down this path, eliminating the requirement for any standardized tests like the SAT. That move would allow them to then take students with little reference to objective criteria. Of course, those who would suffer most would be bright students from poor backgrounds who normally use tests like PSAT to demonstrate their qualifications. In the humanities hiring for new academic positions now appears to center on the race and gender of the applicant, as well as the subject matter, which needs to be about marginalized groups. A white man studying the American presidency does not have a prayer of getting tenure at a major history department.

...

America's top colleges are no longer seen as bastions of excellence but partisan outfits, which means they will keep getting buffeted by these political storms as they emerge. They should abandon this long misadventure into politics, retrain their gaze on their core strengths, and rebuild their reputations as centers of research and learning.

He also discussed their lack of political diversity and their discrimination against Jews and Asians. You can click on the link if you want to read about that. I thought it was more interesting that he gripped the third rail of the leftwing Racial Marxism cult-- questioning diversity quotas and equating them with inferior results. He sounds like some sort of racist white Uncle I might see at a Thanksgiving dinner which I might read about in a Salon article.

If you liked the last epidemic of monkeypox that our "health" authorities refused to take any steps to mitigate -- steps like telling gay men to please stop having orgies with anonymous partners, just until the epidemic blows over; that was considered too much of an ask of the gay community -- you're going to love the next monkeypox epidemic, which features a bug with a higher mortality rate.

From Beege Welborne, an apparently real -- let me put some quotation mark around "real" -- academic paper.

Let me put some quotation marks around "academic" as well.

Misogyny, authoritarianism, and climate change

So far, a plus and a minus: these words seem all picked at random with no possible relationship to each other, which is a minus, but, on the other hand, they are all real words in use in the English language, which is huge and unexpected plus, so, thusfar, I'd say we're way, way ahead of where I thought we'd be by now.

Globally, democratic politics are under attack from Electorally Legitimated Misogynist Authoritarian (ELMA) leaders who successfully use misogyny as a political strategy and present environmental concern in feminine and inferior terms.

They spent $300 million to produce this crazy paper, but you can see it, every dollar is all up on the screen!!!

The ascendancy of such projects raise questions involving socioeconomic structures, political communication, and the psychological underpinnings of people's attitudes.

We offer misogyny, conceptualized in a specific way -- not simply as hatred or disgust for women, but as a way of accessing a gendered hierarchy whereby that which is labeled "feminine" is perceived as inferior, devalued, and amenable to be attacked -- as a relevant transmission mechanism in how ELMAs like Trump may connect with public opinion by systematically investigating the interplay between misogyny, authoritarianism, and climate change in the context of the United States.

Um, I'm not an academic or an expert in feminist theory, but I'm pretty sure that what they offered as their supposedly novel definition of "feminine" -- as used by thuggish brutes like myself -- has been ascribed to the word "feminine" sixty three billion times and is in fact the standard reading given to "feminine" in these screeds.

You cannot write, "and when I use the term 'screw,' I use the term idiosyncratically to mean a cylinder with an inclined plane wrapped around its axis.'" That's not idiosyncratic, that's what a screw is, you dum-dums.

Using a survey methodology (N = 314) and up-to-date questionnaires, we provide a concrete empirical underpinning for recent analytical and theoretical work on the complexity of misogyny. We analyze how misogynist and authoritarian attitudes correlate with climate change, adding to the literature on opposition to climate change policy. An additional exploratory aspect of our study concerning US voter preferences clearly indicates that Trump supporters are more misogynist, more authoritarian, and less concerned with the environment.

Why would "ELMAs" ever think of the word "feminine" -- or "feminist" -- as meaning "inferior" or "silly" or "trivial" or "useless"

it's such a mystery

All of "academics" has been turned away from actual research into how the world works and actual new knowledge which could better mankind into evermore convoluted arguments as to WHY I SHOULD HAVE WON THAT ARGUMENT I HAD LAST WEEK ON FACEBOOK!!!! AAARGH! MY STEPFATHER!!! HE JUST DOESN'T *GET IT*!!! I WISH I COULD SLIT THAT MISOGYNIST'S THROAT!!!!

There's more at the link for any of you ELMAs who want to read why you hate women and trees and votes.

Now you're not going to believe this, but it just may be possible that the failure factories we call universities are not only causing young people to support Hamas through direct indoctrination, but also indirectly, by being massively incompetent and leaving young people completely ignorant and therefore empty-headed and willing to believe anything.

I know it sounds crazy, but David Strom links this research published by a MAN at the WSJ. Most likely an ELMA.

He says that young people today are, let me look up his exact verbiage, ah hang on let me translate from the French, les jeunes d'au'jourd'ui..., "Today's youth o are as dumb as a puddle of mud that's been fucked by retards."

When college students who sympathize with Palestinians chant "From the river to the sea," do they know what they're talking about? I hired a survey firm to poll 250 students from a variety of backgrounds across the U.S. Most said they supported the chant, some enthusiastically so (32.8%) and others to a lesser extent (53.2%).

But only 47% of the students who embrace the slogan were able to name the river and the sea. Some of the alternative answers were the Nile and the Euphrates, the Caribbean, the Dead Sea (which is a lake) and the Atlantic. Less than a quarter of these students knew who Yasser Arafat was (12 of them, or more than 10%, thought he was the first prime minister of Israel). Asked in what decade Israelis and Palestinians had signed the Oslo Accords, more than a quarter of the chant's supporters claimed that no such peace agreements had ever been signed. There's no shame in being ignorant, unless one is screaming for the extermination of millions.

...

In all, after learning a handful of basic facts about the Middle East, 67.8% of students went from supporting "from the river to sea" to rejecting the mantra. These students had never seen a map of the Mideast and knew little about the region's geography, history or demography. Those who hope to encourage extremism depend on the political ignorance of their audiences. It is time for good teachers to join the fray and combat bias with education.

That's a laugh. First of all, most teachers are stupid. Second of all, the Regime wants the kids stupid, because the stupid are weak, scared, and easily led.

Who does this guy think has been teaching these kids for the past 60 years? Did he think we traveled for 60 years, taking every single step nearer the fire, and arrived now at the edges of Hell itself, all by accident?

No. This was the plan. We are following the map.

The Manchester police reported that a "woman" sexually abused her child.

How could a mother do that?

Very simply: To quote Austin Danger Powers, "It's a man, baby."

Why are they literally all like this? Why does literally every leftwinger have the same superior, smug, shiteating, guilty-knowledge smirk? It's akin to the pedosmile.

A Harvard graduate shared Claudia Gay's 2020 agenda for Harvard.

Free speech was not part of that agenda.

[O] Saturday, December 9, I received an email (indirectly) from a faculty member at Harvard, which included as an attachment an August 2020 memo that then Dean Claudine Gay sent to the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences....

Gay's memo is an infantile and embarrassing word salad of woke and D-E-I gobbledygook. Consider her core assumptions:

People across the world have risen up in protest against police brutality and systemic racism, awake to the devastating legacies of slavery and white supremacy like never before. The calls for racial justice heard on our streets also echo on our campus, as we reckon with our individual and institutional shortcomings and with our Faculty's shared responsibility to bring truth to bear on the pernicious effects of structural inequality.

According to Gay, it is the primary responsibility of Harvard and all institutions of higher learning to combat "systemic racism" and "structural inequality." More directly: Gay is promoting "racial justice" as Harvard's primary purpose and "anti-racist action" as its modus operandi. Harvard is to be revolutionized and transformed from an institution of higher learning into an indoctrination center, the purpose of which is to promote an extremist, far-left-wing ideological agenda. Ironically, such ideals and actions are apparently needed--and desperately needed--at of one of America's most liberal universities. What this means, of course, is that all protests and riots (or, at least, the right ones)--including the ones that took place in the United States in the summer of 2020 when our cities burned from BLM/Antifa riots--are legitimate to combat the greater evil.

Gay's memo (we can call it the Gay Agenda) is not only a blueprint but it's also a call to action, the same kind of action that we've seen on college campuses since the October 7 genocide of Jews by Hamas (in the name of the Palestinian people). The memo set the institutional foundation and is an action plan for the recent protests at Harvard and other college campuses around the U.S. calling for the extermination of the Jewish people. The tropes and mentalité of the Gay Agenda should remind us all of Martin Heidegger's "inner greatness" speech on the need to transform higher education in Nazi Germany.

In Gay's mentally dysmorphic worldview, only power and those who wield exist. She therefore reminds her colleagues that "Change is messy work" and that it will make many "uncomfortable." This is code language, of course, for the notion that eggs must be broken to make the new equity omelette. The Gay Agenda sanctions the identification, objectification, and brutalization of the "oppressor" class (i.e., non-leftists) by those at America's so-called Ivy League institutions who speak for the "oppressed" class. The end shall justify the means. Violence against the oppressor class is understandable if not simply just.

Gay's 2020 memo also flies in the face of everything she said to Representative Stefanik in the congressional hearing from the week before. In her congressional testimony, Gay projected little more than evasive and soft moral relativism. Her 2020 memo represents, by contrast, what she really thinks: it's her call to action. This is a real-life example of what Rudi Dutschke meant by the "long march through the institutions."

In Britain, a Conservative MP has stirred controversy by accurately describing the reality around us.

Conservative MP Rachel Maclean caused something of a stir when she described her [Green Party] opponent as a "man who wears a wig and calls himself a 'proud lesbian.'"

Although this Green Party flake may be a minor candidate (I'm assuming), Labour jumped in to denounce the Conservative Party woman for noticing that this particular person was a man. From the BBC, a Labour flack demanded that this Conservative MP withdraw from her position for retweeting someone else noticing that this is a man in a Party City wig:

But Joe Baker, Labour group leader at Redditch Borough Council, said he believed "the recent repost and share on X" were "absolutely vile and hateful" and Mrs Maclean now needed "to question her position".

"People who hold positions of authority should be looking after those they are in a position to serve," he said.

"I understand that the situation is sensitive and I believe everyone has a right to their opinions, but when that opinion promotes hate and harm then this needs to be challenged."

"Everyone has the right to their opinions, except when those opinions are officially wrong, in which case, they must forfeit their jobs and go crawl out on to an iceberg to die alone."

Good on the students:

I mean... what else could it have been?

Microsoft Word is now scolding you for using non-inclusive words like "insane," and thinks that if you say "11,000 lbs.," you've made a judgement about someone's weight, and should "try a new perspective."
