A Four-Year-Old American Girl Is Among the Hostages Releaased By Hamas

Note they refused to release a four-year-old American child hostage until Israel released convicted Palestinian terrorists from prison. This was not a mercy release.

They demanded ransom for the four-year-old.

A 4-year-old American girl was among 14 Israeli hostages and three foreign hostages who were released Sunday by Hamas after being taken from Israel nearly three months ago.

Avigail Idan, a dual Israeli-American citizen, was confirmed to have been released Sunday. Edan was taken hostage on Oct. 7 after Hamas terrorists murdered her parents in front of her.

"Thank God she's home," President Biden told reporters. "I wish I was there to hold her."

The Red Cross has informed the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) that they have taken custody of 14 Israeli hostages and three foreign hostages that Hamas released from Gaza on Sunday, according to the IDF.

One hostage was airlifted directly to an Israeli hospital.

It is the third group of hostages that Hamas released as part of a fragile cease-fire between Hamas and Israel after Hamas militants seized around 240 people during the rampage across southern Israel that ignited the war.

Nine children, including Idan, were among those released Sunday. The others are: Ella Elyakim, 8; Dafna Elyakim, 14; Ofry Brodutch, 10; Yuval Brodutch, 8; Oria Brodutch, 4; Agam Almog Goldstein 17; Gal Almog Goldstein 11; and Tal Almog Goldstein, 9.

Plastic chairs as beds. Meals of bread and rice. Hours spent waiting for the bathroom. As former hostages return to Israel after seven weeks of Hamas captivity, information about the conditions of their confinement has emerged.

The 58 hostages freed under a cease-fire deal over the past three days have largely stayed out of the public eye, with most still in hospitals.

Nearly two months after Hamas militants dragged them into Gaza during a bloody cross-border attack on Israel that also killed 1,200 people, most freed hostages appear to be in stable physical condition.

Merav Raviv, whose three relatives were released by Hamas on Friday, said they had been fed irregularly and had eaten mainly rice and bread. She said her cousin and aunt, Keren and Ruth Munder, had each lost around 7 kilograms (15 pounds) in just 50 days.

Raviv said she'd heard from her freed family members that they had slept on rows of chairs pushed together in a room that looked like a reception area. They said they sometimes had to wait hours before going to the bathroom.

Adva Adar, the grandchild of 85-year-old released hostage Yaffa Adar, said her grandmother had also lost weight.

"She counted the days of her captivity," Adar said. "She came back and she said, 'I know that I've been there for 50 days.'"

Israel is offering to extend the ceasefire by one day for each ten hostages released.

White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan on Sunday did not rule out the possibility that the four-day ceasefire between Israel and Hamas that began Friday could be extended, but said that the decision was up to Hamas.

"I think it is certainly a possibility, and we would like to see that happen," Sullivan told NBC's Kristen Welker during an interview on "Meet the Press."

Israel has proposed extending the ceasefire one additional day for every 10 more hostages Hamas releases beyond the 50 women and children the two sides agreed to in the initial deal. But it's unclear whether Hamas will agree to such an extension.

"Hamas is going to make the decision about whether they're prepared to release another 10 hostages. Israel has put its cards on the table. They're prepared to extend the pause in the fighting," Sullivan said.

Meanwhile, Biden apologized to Muslims for doubting the claimed casualty figures of the certified terrorist organization Hamas.

Biden's support among Arab American voters has plummeted over his handling of the war. Biden delivered a strongly pro-Israel speech several days after the massacres in Israel by Hamas on October 7. On October 25 Biden held a press conference and questioned the numbers of deaths that Hamas was reporting.

Hamas is a terrorist organization and Biden's skepticism was warranted. Hamas deals in propaganda to present themselves in the best light and playing victim to Israel's response in self-defense is standard procedure. Hamas is not the victim here, it is the innocent Israelis who were murdered, raped, burned alive, and taken hostage on October 7. Biden, to his credit, said the quiet part out loud -- Hamas is not truthful in its rhetoric.

But, it's re-election time and Muslim Americans and Arab Americans are not happy with Biden's support of Israel. He met with five Muslim American leaders on October 26 and vowed to "do better." The meeting was scheduled to last for 30 minutes and ended up going on for an hour. The community leaders told Biden about people they know who are affected by the massacre.

During the meeting, Biden was urged to show more empathy toward Palestinians. Biden is reported to have hugged one of the men as the meeting ended.
