GOP Sweeps All Statewide Offices In Louisiana
Some good news, finally.
Come January, the GOP will control every elected statewide office in Louisiana after Republicans swept three runoff races for attorney general, secretary of state and treasurer Saturday night.
The GOP success, in a state that has had a Democrat in the governor's office for the past eight years, means that Republicans secured all of Louisiana's statewide offices for the first time since 2015. In addition, the GOP holds a two-third supermajority in the House and Senate.
Liz Murrill was elected as attorney general, Nancy Landry as secretary of state and John Fleming as treasurer. The results also mean Louisiana will have its first female attorney general and first woman elected as secretary of state.
Saturday's election completes the shaping of Louisiana's executive branch, where most incumbents didn't seek reelection and opened the door for new leadership in some of the most powerful positions.
The new Republican governor-elect didn't even have to go to a runoff because he secured 50%+ of the vote back in October.
Meanwhile, the Soros DA of Loudoun County, Virginia, who prosecuted the father of the girl raped by a transgender in a bathroom, has been deposed from office by pissed-off voters.
In fact, everyone involved with that scandal has been turned out of office.
A reckoning has come for Virginia's Loudoun County, where the school board had a father arrested after he demanded answers regarding the rape of his daughter in a girls' restroom.
The school board, the superintendent, and even the local prosecutor, whom the parents blamed for letting the assailant escape the sex offender list, have all been ousted or declined to run for reelection, according to preliminary election results.
Commonwealth's Attorney Buta Biberaj, a Democratic prosecutor bankrolled by the George Soros-funded Justice and Public Safety PAC, lost her reelection campaign last week. Biberaj conceded to Republican Bob Anderson on Wednesday.
Biberaj's defeat comes after the county elected an entirely new school board. As The Daily Signal previously reported, only two of the incumbent school board members ran for reelection, and both lost their races.
The prosecutor and school board ousters come after the school board itself previously fired Superintendent Scott Ziegler after a grand jury compiled a report into the sexual assaults and alleged school board cover-up.
