Behold A Pale Horse: And His Name That Sat On Him Was ONT. And Hell Followed With Him

Happy Thursday Horde! Welcome to the ONT. On this day in history:

Friendly Fire

A year after tragedy struck Olde Town Arvada, a family sues Arvada Police and tries to move on

Hurley had trained for active shooter situations — not because it was part of his work, but because he wanted to help people and save lives.

Crouching down, he ran across a vacant, shady plaza with umbrellas and tables, gripping his gun as it pointed toward the ground. Hurley knelt down behind a brick wall and carefully watched the shooter. Hurley took aim and fired six rounds from his handgun, five struck the gunman, according to his lawyers.

The entire scene was captured on surveillance camera footage.

“I have to admit it's kind of exciting to see the way he handled himself,” said his mother, Kathleen Boleyn. “The way he took all the training and practice that he's had and did the right thing.”

Hurley continued to try to do the right thing — he moved to disarm the gunman, who was still alive and lying on the ground with his AR-15 nearby, according to Boleyn’s attorneys.

They stayed inside because they worried even the door itself wouldn’t stop a round from an AR-15, according to investigative documents.

Even though Hurley didn’t look anything like the suspect description, they told investigators in an interview later that they couldn’t tell if he was a possibly a second shooter. They had no idea one of their own, Officer Gordon Beesley, had been killed just two minutes earlier.

“That's the information that Arvada did not want the public to know,” said Siddhartha Rathod, the attorney representing Hurley’s family. “The officers hid while Johnny did what they were trained to do, that the officers refused to go outside. These are three officers with bulletproof vests on, and they refused to open the door and go and engage the shooter.”

For 11 seconds, the officers watched Hurley from behind as he was trying to remove ammunition from the automatic rifle, according to court filings. Without announcing “police” or asking him to drop the weapon, Arvada Officer Kraig Brownlow opened the substation door and took aim at Hurley from behind, hitting him in his back pelvis and killing him.

So this hero engaged an active shoot are brought him down, and THEN the police came out and shot him.

Look, I wasn't there. I don't know how the actual sequence of events went down, but according to the article the police watched the shooter on his rampage, saw him engaged and neutralized by Hurley, and then shot Hurley in the back. A mass shooting is a chaotic event, and maybe, hopefully, the police made a tragic mistake. But a question I hear often in this age of cell phone video is “Why didn't anyone help”? Well, incidents like this, and the Marine in NYC being prosecuted for subduing the subway lunatic are the reason. If the cops aren't willing to leave their sheltered position to subdue an active shooter, why should the civilian? And if any civilian who does so stands a risk of being shot or arrested for saving the day, why should they risk it?

I Gotta Get Me One Of These

Guédelon Castle: A Medieval Château Being Constructed in Modern-Day France

If you drive two hours south of Paris, you’ll come across the northern Burgundy commune of Treigny. At first, you might not think anything of the community with a population of just under 800, but if you travel to the nearby woodland area, you’ll find a reason to stay a while.

Guédelon Castle is a 13th-century medieval castle that’s currently under construction in the woods near Treigny. Slated to be completed in 2023, the structure is being built using the techniques and tools that were accessible to those living in the Middle Ages. This will ensure that, while it’s technically a modern castle, it still shares the characteristics of one built during the 1200s.

Maybe after society collapses I can conspire to be an Earl or Baron and get myself one of these. I am a benevolent ruler, modern construction methods will be allowed. That should speed things up

Oldie But A Goodie

Soros’s campaign of global chaos

On the surface, the vast number of groups and people he supports seem unrelated. After all, what does climate change have to do with illegal African immigration to Israel? What does Occupy Wall Street have to do with Greek immigration policies? But the fact is that Soros-backed projects share basic common attributes.

They all work to weaken the ability of national and local authorities in Western democracies to uphold the laws and values of their nations and communities.

They all work to hinder free markets, whether those markets are financial, ideological, political or scientific. They do so in the name of democracy, human rights, economic, racial and sexual justice and other lofty terms.

In other words, their goal is to subvert Western democracies and make it impossible for governments to maintain order or for societies to retain their unique identities and values.

* Looks around at the world * Welp, I'd say he's been fantastically successful.

Tonight's Question

Otoya Yamaguchi Has Some Ideas

How Can We Keep Living With These Damn Commies?

We normal Americans share this continent – which I must acknowledge was stolen from the bucolic and loving indigenous folk who dwelled here before the Europeans came and conquered it fair and square – with a clique of malignant mediocrities who increasingly want us disarmed, disenfranchised and – to judge from the love I get on social media – deceased. Yet we are stuck here together on this continent with pinko people who seem intent on us doing the dirty work of feeding, fueling, and defending this nation while they kick back and complain to each other about how we are racist, sexist, and caught up in the gender binary as they sip cups of kombucha on one of their countless stress breaks from their semi-show job at Tech Corp in which they synergize impactful strategies.

This living arrangement is becoming untenable – for them too, and they are taking action. If you look at the stats, the left has decided to approach the problem of free speech – specifically, us having it – with the innovative approach of banning free speech. Oh, they are not ashamed to tell you so – no hate speech, no racist speech, no climate denial, no pointing out that only men have weenies – just as 47% of them were not ashamed to tell a pollster recently that free speech should be legal “only under certain circumstances.” Naturally, those certain circumstances are when said free speech does not challenge their feelz or power.

We need helicopters. Lots of helicopters.

Threat Level Rising

Hamas Calls Global Day of Jihad on Friday the 13th

The Palestinian Hamas terror group known as Hamas has called on Muslims worldwide to stage a “Day of Jihad,” or holy war, on Friday, October 13th — coincidentally, a date that resonates with horror movies and the upcoming Halloween holiday. Hamas referred to the day as “Al-Aqsa Flood” Friday, referring to the name of the operation in which it murdered more than 1,200 Israelis, wounded roughly 3,000, and kidnapped over 100.

Anyone who has been paying attention knows that we are wide open to asymmetrical warfare. We've had wide open borders for the past 2 ½ years, any number of terrorist cells could be present in the US right now, just waiting to activate. (This was a crucial component of the attack on America in the fantastic WWIII book Mongol Moon, written by my friend Mark Sibley. He brings the different players together too fast, but overall it's a good read if you like Clancy-style storytelling)

So here are my questions. Is this a for real call to action or is it just rhetoric? Do you think anything will happen, and if so will it be attacks by organized terrorist cells, or just random nut jobs making lone wolf attacks? Finally, are you planning to do anything different tomorrow as opposed to any other day of the week? We're not planning on doing anything different, but we never go anywhere Fridays anyway. Little doesn't have classes on Friday, Gingy works from home on Fridays, as I do every day. So we'll all be home, and there are plenty of ways here to turn money into noise.
