The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“But the thing about being a role model — people watch what you do to see if it lines up with what you say!” Vice President Kamala Harris

Quote II

“This is $6 billion that will be in the hands of [Iranian President Ebrahim] Raisi, the butcher of Tehran, controlled by the ayatollah, and it will mean more danger for everyone, Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

Quote III

"The relevant metric now isn't left versus right. It's anti-establishment versus pro-establishment.

Namely, do you think the loss of trust that these institutions of authority have suffered is valid or not? Do you think that they deserve the contempt in which they are held by a large portion of the population? I believe it's absolutely justified to hold them in contempt...

That's the fundamental distinction that defines our political spectrum more than old definitions of left versus right." Glenn Greenwald

I might be movin' to Montana soon. Just to raise me up a crop of Dental Floss Raisin' it up I don't think so anymore.......

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A Montana judge on Monday sided with young environmental activists who said state agencies were violating their constitutional right t o a clean and healthful environment by permitting fossil fuel development without considering its effect on the climate.

The ruling following a first-of-its- kind trial in the U.S. adds to a small number of legal decisions around the world that have established a government duty to protect citizens from climate change.

District Court Judge Kathy Seeley found the policy the state uses in evaluating requests for fossil fuel permits — which does not allow agencies to evaluate the effects of greenhouse gas emissions — is unconstitutional.

Two Princeton, MIT Scientists Say EPA Climate Regulations Based on a ‘Hoax’
Physicist, meteorologist testify that the climate agenda is ‘disastrous’ for America

Two prominent climate scientists have taken on the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) new rules to cut CO2 emissions in electricity generation, arguing in testimony that the regulations “will be disastrous for the country, for no scientifically justifiable reason.”

Citing extensive data (pdf) to support their case, William Happer, professor emeritus in physics at Princeton University, and Richard Lindzen, professor emeritus of atmospheric science at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), argued that the claims used by the EPA to justify the new regulations are not based on scientific facts but rather political opinions and speculative models that have consistently proven to be wrong.

“The unscientific method of analysis, relying on consensus, peer review, government opinion, models that do not work, cherry-picking data and omitting voluminous contradictory data, is commonly employed in these studies and by the EPA in the Proposed Rule,” Mr. Happer and Mr. Lindzen stated. “None of the studies provides scientific knowledge, and thus none provides any scientific support for the Proposed Rule.”

If you are having a Bible study at your home, can you utter "Holy Shit" without condemnation?

MORADA, Calif. — A security camera captured a dog chasing a mountain lion through the backyard of a California home on Friday.

Sandy Ali, of Morada, said she had lived in the area for years but had never seen a big cat near her home, KCRA-TV reported. She said she was surprised when a friend mentioned that two animals were running through the yard.

Two things Sugar T!ts: 1)At 34 you shouldn't be sponging off Mom & Dad; 2) They like your sister more than they like you. It happens.

A bereaved woman says she was shocked after her parents ordered her to move out of a house she'd come to regard as her home, just so that her younger sister and her family could move in instead. After the tragic loss of her boyfriend this past spring, the 34-year-old woman - who also found herself unemployed at around the same time - had no choice but to move back to her hometown.

Fortunately, she was thrown a much-needed lifeline when her parents agreed to let her live in a rural property they used to rent out, free of charge, reassuring her that it was hers to call home for as long as she needed. The house in question was fairly run-down, as nobody had lived there for a while, and she ended up putting plenty of time and money into doing it up.

I'm not a scientist. I don't play one on TV and I certainly didn't spend last night any a Holiday Inn Express. Any one who has hunted for predators know about squealing babies. I sure hope not too many tax dollars went to this study.

Nile crocodiles react to the cries of infants from species such as bonobos, chimpanzees, and humans.
New research shows that crocodiles also seem to distinguish levels of distress in cries.
The response may be predatory but could also demonstrate a maternal instinct in female crocodiles.

Woman finds man showering in her Nashville hotel room after alleged arson
The arrest report says a manager at the Holiday Inn Express found McNichols lighting a small fire in a stairwell.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man is accused of several crimes in hotels that are across the street from each other on Broadway including arson (reckless burning), aggravated burglary, vandalism, disorderly conduct and trespassing.

Police said officers arrived at The Grand Hyatt Hotel after receiving reports of someone stealing and trespassing on the property on Monday night. That’s where they found hotel security detaining 62-year-old Timothy McNichols, police said.

Security told officers McNichols was caught on camera stealing a hotel employee’s scooter from the garage and coming back without it, according to the arrest report. Officers recognized him as the suspect of vandalism and starting fires earlier in the day at the Holiday Inn Express across the street.

When one or two doors are closed. More are opened. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Gently holding a baby hummingbird between her hands, Catia Lattouf says, “Hello, cute little guy. Are you very hungry?” It’s the newest patient at her apartment in a toney section of Mexico City where she has nursed hundreds of the tiny birds back to health over the past decade.

Under Lattouf’s caress, the bird relaxes little by little, allowing her to evaluate it. A young man who rescued it after it fell from a nest onto his patio watched attentively.

“It is a broad-billed hummingbird,” the 73-year-old Lattouf said, as she moved an eyedropper to its beak. “Oh, mama, you want to eat!”
