Massachusetts Declares Emergency Over the Illegal Alien Diversity That Is Our Strength
Update: Chuck Todd Admits That Greg Abbott Was Right -- Blue Cities Don't Like Illegal Aliens When They're Forced to Deal With Them

"Uncontrolled illegal immigration seemed like such an easy thing to manage when it was going on in Texas and Arizona and Florida!"

Easy for you, sure.

Democratic Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey declared a state of emergency Tuesday over the flood of migrants pouring into her deep blue state and straining emergency resources.

Healey urged the federal government to step up support for the crisis, which she claims has caused a "severe lack of shelter availability."

"I am declaring a state of emergency in Massachusetts and urging my partners in the federal government to take the action we need to address this crisis by streamlining the work authorization process and passing comprehensive immigration reform," she said in a statement.

According to commonwealth officials, there are currently around 5,600 families -- more than 20,000 individuals -- in state shelters.

"Many of these families are migrants to Massachusetts, drawn here because we are and proudly have been a beacon to those in need," Healey wrote in a letter to Homeland Security [repeal the law banning illegals from working by executive fiat].

The Massachusetts declaration follows similar pronouncements by New York state and the city of Chicago in recent months.

...

Massachusetts is the only state in the union with a "right-to-shelter" law on the books, guaranteeing homeless families a place to stay regardless of whether they are US citizens or not.

While NYC Mayor Eric Adams sought in May to suspend the city's right-to-shelter obligation, Healey told reporters in Boston Tuesday that "I was never going to end, nor do I have the authority to end, right-to-shelter in the state."

Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll urged Bay State residents to consider opening their homes to migrants, saying: "This is not a crisis that our family shelter system was designed to handle. For months now, state government and our providers have been doing the work of stretching the system as far as it can safely go. But we really need to bring more people into this work to make it a true team effort.

"If you have an extra room or suite in your home, please consider hosting a family. Safe housing and shelter is our most pressing need."

...

During fiscal year 2022, US Customs and Border Protection tabulated a record-smashing 2.4 million migrant encounters at the US-Mexico border

Already that figure is up to 1.8 million for fiscal year 2023, which ends Sept 30.

The mayor of Sanctuary City NYC says he wants $12 billion from the federal government for having to deal with all of the Opportunity and Strengthening and Economic Growth that the illegals have brought.

Weird how all this "Economic Growth" illegals bring results in a $12 billion loss.

Are you sure you're not mistaking a minus sign for a plus sign? Maybe there's a bit of dust on your computer monitor.

ayor Eric Adams on Wednesday sharpened his appeal for state and federal aid by presenting steep new cost projections for the tens of thousands of migrants in New York City's care.

"If we don't get the support we need, New Yorkers could be left with a $12 billion bill," he said in a formal address to the public from City Hall.

The $12 billion is the estimate by summer of 2025 if the flow of migrants continues apace with current numbers, Adams said. Administration officials had previously forecast that the cost would reach more than $4 billion by next summer. The new estimation of $4 billion annually for three years, is a significant portion of the city's budget that is currently $107 billion. By comparison, the NYPD's annual budget this year is $5.8 million.

"The immigration system in this nation is broken; it has been broken for decades," Adams said, declaring: "Today, New York City has been left to pick up the pieces."

Oh it's the immigration system and not the corrupt shipwreck in the Oval Office.

Democrats and bureaucrats -- they're the same thing -- love blaming "systems," hate blaming their fellow civil "servants." (Unless they're Republicans, obvy.)

Nearly 100,000 migrants have arrived to the city since the spring of 2022, Adams said. While tens of thousands have moved on from the city, with new arrivals expected, the number of those remaining in the city's shelters and emergency housing facilities could balloon to 100,000, Adams said.

"We are past our breaking point," the mayor said.

Still, he vowed not to close the doors on those who need shelter. New York City is legally required to provide beds and care in a timely manner under its unique "Right to Shelter" law.

Despite the law, migrant men found themselves sleeping for days on the sidewalk outside a midtown Manhattan intake center last week. The images were circulated on social media and received national news coverage. While those using cardboard boxes as beds have been limited to single adults, an administration official told POLITICO last week that families with children may also soon be on the street for lack of space.

More than $140 million in federal funds have been allocated to New York City for the support of migrants. Officials with President Joe Biden's administration have noted to POLITICO that Adams and members of New York's congressional delegation met two weeks ago in Washington with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. A DHS team is currently in New York City to assess the crisis.

I remember when El Paso asked for more aid and Biden told them to get f***ed.

UPDATE! squat partisan toad Chuck Todd admits that Republicans were right about Democrats supporting open borders, as long as those borders were by Republican states.

In a surprising admission Thursday, NBC's Chuck Todd said that Gov. Greg Abbott, R-Texas, was "right" when he said bussing migrants to blue cities would turn Democratic politicians against the Biden administration and pressure the White House to get control over the border.

During a preview of an upcoming segment on "Meet the Press", Todd discussed New York City's "growing humanitarian crisis" as officials grapple with an influx of migrants overwhelming city shelters and draining its resources. As Todd spoke, images of migrants camped out on New York City streets appeared on screen beside a frustrated Mayor Eric Adams.

"Coming up, New York City's growing humanitarian crisis. The shelter system, slammed by an influx of migrants. New calls for federal help. I guess Greg Abbott was right," Todd told viewers. "He said once he got blue cities to deal with this, that they would be very upset at the federal government."

Increasingly-based leftwinger and former member of the Young Turks Jimmy Dore had a lot of fun mocking liberals from suddenly not being such keen fans of illegal aliens when they're in Massachusetts and New York City, instead of El Paso and Tucson, where they're supposed to be.
