The Weekend Hobby Thread
Good afternoon boys, girls and everything in between. Here's hoping you can forget about politics and current events for approximately 2 hours and just enjoy the Hobby Lifestyle.

In all honesty I use a wheel most of the time but I collect hand spindles. A few of mine...
At the bottom is one with a soapstone whorl my husband made. The next one has a Baltic amber whorl with a bog oak spindle. And then the skull! The whorl on the next is a composite stone. The "bead" is an Iron Age whorl from Yorkshire. The silver object is a reproduction of an Etruscan finger distaff. - Lirio100
Lirio's hobby I think is a little less costly than fd's hobby............
This is one of my current projects. I’ve got this car about 8 years ago. It had been sitting for over 30 years then. It was missing some key parts when I got it, like the intake and exhaust manifolds, but I found those and got the engine running last year. I’ve been collecting the other pieces to get it drivable again and just finished completely rebuilding the brake system. Next I’m replacing the fuel pump and fuel lines, and then it will be ready to drive out of the shop under its own power, for the first time in about 40 years.
I’ve never seen one of these cars in person anywhere else. I’ll leave it to the Horde to see if yall can identify it.- fd
Are those computer monitors I see in the background fd?

The following submission, the math does not add up. Knitting for 60 years yet is only 29.
A beautiful blanket for a very worthwhile cause that I had never heard of until today. Thanks for sharing your hobby as well as this charity.
I’ve been knitting for 60 years and can knit while watching TV, listening to lectures, reading, conversations, etc. Project Linus provides acrylic yarn and I knit blankets for them to give to children in need. (Other volunteers crochet and quilt.) My favorites are the larger blankets for older children. This blanket is about 36x40” and still needs to be machine washed and dried. All yarn ends have been woven into the knit fabric and will be trimmed after washing.
Project Linus (projectlinus.org) is named for Peanuts’ Linus and his blanket. There are chapters in every state; I knit for the Volusia County, Florida chapter. - Wendy (probably wcgreen, but I rarely post)
Thanks to all who submitted their hobbies to us. If you want to share your hobby, ideas, tips or 20/0 fan brushes and Jenkins Acrylic Green paint, you can do this at petmorons at gmail dot com. Keep on hobbying.
