Democrat Congressthing and "Squad" Member Pramila Jayapal Calls the Jews of Israel "Racist;" Media Decides That It's the Republicans Objecting to That Who Are the Real Villains Here
Pramila Jayapal did her best to increase hatred of Jews and to justify jihadist violence against them.
Called out on it, she doubled down. In fact, she herself claimed I'm the Real Victim Here, claiming that "black and brown women" can say whatever they like about any other group and if you criticize them for that, you're the Real Racist.
Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) doubled down on her antisemitic statements from the weekend calling Israel "a racist state" and then attempting to claim victim status for the international condemnation she received in response.
In an interview with The Seattle Times, Jayapal said, "It's not right to call out progressives, but then not recognize that most of us that get called out are women, black, brown, immigrant. You cannot, you just cannot skip over that." She also claimed there is a "double standard" against progressives.
Jayapal made the antisemitic remarks against the Jewish state after pro-Palestinian protesters interrupted a panel discussion at the progressive Netroots Nation conference in Chicago over the weekend.
While attempting to placate the activists Jayapal said, "As somebody who's been in the streets and participated in a lot of demonstrations, I want you to know that we have been fighting to make it clear that Israel is a racist state, that the Palestinian people deserve self-determination and autonomy, that the dream of a two-state solution is slipping away from us."
Following international outcry as well as condemnation from members of her own party, Jayapal attempted to walk back the comments claiming she was trying "to defuse a tense situation during a panel where fellow members of Congress were being protested."
The House just voted to support Israel.
Nine Democrats voted against the purely symbolic statement.
You'll never guess who!
The Daily Beast complains that Seizing and Pouncing Conservatives are "humiliating" this poor Antisemite of Color.
Ever since Jayapal made the comment on Saturday at the liberal Netroots Nation conference, Republicans have devoted much of their attention to humiliating the congresswoman, tying the rest of the Democratic Party to Jayapal's words, and highlighting the divisions.
...
The National Republican Congressional Committee--the House GOP's campaign arm--was aggressively messaging on the issue. The Republican National Committee chimed in Tuesday to attempt to connect the comment to other Democrats. Republican lawmakers took to the House floor this week to boast about their pro-Israel bona fides. And House Speaker Kevin McCarthy spent the week suggesting Democrats have a widespread antisemitism problem within the party.
...
"House [Democratic] leadership don't punish their Antisemitic members when they make bigoted comments and are closet believers that Israel is a racist state--proven by their refusal to whip this vote," NRCC press secretary Will Reinert wrote in a statement.
The New York Times' Michelle Goldberg, who has previously written about how terrible Trump's non-existent antisemitism is, now says that antisemitism isn't such a big deal.

What are the rules today?
Michelle Goldberg is just following the lead of Karine Jean-Pierre, who furiously condemns antisemitism when the charge can be used to damage the right, but then refused to even criticize Jayapal.
She was asked four times to condemn Jayapal's terrorism-inciting rhetoric,
She was much more eager to attack Biden's rival RFK, Jr. for dodgy statements he just made about the covid virus not affecting Chinese people, and Jews:
Ignoring the antisemitism in her own party, she now declares that Biden has a "once-of-a-kind plan" (sic) for dealing with antisemtism.
