The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

And I don't think that government has a role in telling people how to live their lives. Maybe a minister does, maybe your belief in God does, maybe there's another set of moral codes, but I don't think government has a role. Clarence Thomas

Quote II

The Founding Fathers are not just some people that happened to get mad a long time ago and want their freedom. They were special people in addition to what their natural yearnings were. Rush Limbaugh

Quote III

A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. Thomas Jefferson

Being a store keeper isn't easy at times. Especially when it comes time to sample the product.

The Man Who Opened a Store Selling Heroin and Cocaine Has Died From an Overdose
Jerry Martin, 51, opened the store in Vancouver because he wanted to give people access to clean drugs and challenge Canadian drug laws.

The ONT covered the store opening earlier this year. I'm surprised he lasted this long.

Some science is settled. Some is not. ‘It was an accident’: the scientists who have turned humid air into renewable power

In the early 20th century, Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla dreamed of pulling limitless free electricity from the air around us. Ever ambitious, Tesla was thinking on a vast scale, effectively looking at the Earth and upper atmosphere as two ends of an enormous battery. Needless to say, his dreams were never realised, but the promise of air-derived electricity – hygroelectricity – is now capturing researchers’ imaginations again. The difference: they’re not thinking big, but very, very small.

Our education system has failed.

Almost half of Americans don’t know why we celebrate July 4, a new report says

Math is not taken seriously in Otsego County, Michigan.

OTSEGO COUNTY, MI – A Northern Michigan community’s fireworks plans were doused over the weekend.

It occured on Otsego Lake south of Gaylord. The Otsego Lake Association oversees the community.

It had planned its Fourth of July fireworks show for July 1, but it was forced to cancel the show after a platform holding all the fireworks collapsed and fell into the water.

Some witnesses told UpNorthLive the barge broke in half before collapsing.

Full Scale Genius Award Winner and brawl.

The Spirit Airlines ticket counter turned chaotic at Orlando International Airport last Tuesday evening, and the wild scene was all caught on camera.

According to an arrest affidavit from the Orlando Police Department, an Ohio man involved in a scuffle with an officer ended up arrested.
