So. Fauci and The Regime lied all along.

The Covid pandemic's patient zero may have been identified -- and he was not the unlucky consumer of a dodgy soup at a Wuhan wet market. Instead, according to new reports this week three separate Chinese government officials have all named scientist Ben Hu, who was in charge of gain of function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, as the first human to be infected with the new disease.

The well sourced report confirmed earlier reporting that the Covid pandemic had its origins in a Chinese virology lab at Wuhan, a story that was first broken by The Daily Telegraph's Sharri Markson.

I saw various people doubting this, figuring -- reasonably -- that if the Chinese government is claiming this is Patient Zero, they must be hiding the real patient zero.

Who would be what? Maybe a member of the Chinese military overseeing the development of the weapon?

I don't know about that, but Chinese officials are now at least admitting: Yes, it came from the lab that everyone not named "Anthony Fauci" knew it came from.

According to multiple U.S. government officials interviewed as part of a lengthy investigation by Public and Racket, the first people infected by the virus, "patients zero," included Ben Hu, a researcher who led the WIV's "gain-of-function" research on SARS-like coronaviruses, which increases the infectiousness of viruses.

Public officials in the U.S. and other countries have repeatedly suggested that uncovering the pandemic's origin may not be possible. "We may never know," said Anthony Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who oversaw pandemic response for two administrations.

Now, answers increasingly look within reach. Sources within the US government say that three of the earliest people to become infected with SARS-CoV-2 were Ben Hu, Yu Ping, and Yan Zhu. All were members of the Wuhan lab suspected to have leaked the pandemic virus.

As such, not only do we know there were WIV scientists who had developed COVID-19-like illnesses in November 2019, but also that they were working with the closest relatives of SARS-CoV-2, and inserting gain-of-function features unique to it.

That's impossible -- Anthony Fauci told me it had been proven this virus evolved naturally, and that there was no sign of gain-of-function manipulation!

When a source was asked how certain they were that these were the identities of the three WIV scientists who developed symptoms consistent with COVID-19 in the fall of 2019, we were told, "100%"

Ben Hu was the protegee and successor to Shi Zhengli -- the notorious "Bat Lady" of Wuhan.

"Ben Hu is essentially the next Shi Zhengli," said Alina Chan, a molecular biologist at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and coauthor with Matt Ridley of Viral: The Search for the Origin of Covid19. Shi is known as "the bat woman of China," and led the gain-of-function research at the WIV. "He was her star pupil. He had been making chimeric SARS-like viruses and testing these in humanized mice. If I had to guess who would be doing this risky virus research and most at risk of getting accidentally infected, it would be him."

Hu and Yu researched the novel lineage of SARS-like viruses from which SARS-CoV-2 hails, and in 2019 coauthored a paper with Shi Zhengli that described SARS-like lineages they had studied over the years.

Jamie Metzl, a former member of the World Health Organization expert advisory committee on human genome editing who raised questions starting in early 2020 about a possible research-related pandemic origin, said, "It's a game changer if it can be proven that Hu got sick with COVID-19 before anyone else. That would be the 'smoking gun.' Hu was the lead hands-on researcher in Shi's lab."

And the Chinese are confirming this.

On Dec. 29, 2017, two years before the pandemic began, Chinese state-run television aired a video that includes a scene of Ben Hu watching a lab worker handle specimens. Neither are wearing protective gear.

Here's why Fauci is lying: DARPA rejected the grant to his buddy Peter Daszak to study the "furin cleavage sites" on the SARS virus at Wuhan. And after Obama ordered an end to funding gain-of-function, Fauci rewrote the rules and gave another grant, from the NIH, to Daszak to re-start gain-of-function research.

In March 2018, the WIV, the EcoHealth Alliance, and the University of North Carolina applied for a $14 million grant from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Project Agency DARPA to engineer "furin cleavage sites" into SARS-like coronaviruses to study how this affected their ability to grow and cause disease.

Scientists say the key piece of the COVID-19 virus, which made it so transmissible compared to its closest relatives, was its unique furin cleavage site.

Hu co-authored multiple papers on coronavirus research, including a 2017 paper on chimeric bat coronaviruses with Peter Daszak, the head of EcoHealth Alliance, which was funded in part by the NIH and the USAID Emerging Pandemic Threats PREDICT Program. Data privately shared with the NIH revealed that these chimeric SARS-like viruses grew far more quickly and caused more severe disease in humanized mice in the lab.

Public sent emails and made phone calls to the NIH, WIV, EcoHealth Alliance, Daszak, Hu, and Shi over the last several days and did not hear back.

Biden supposedly ordered the National Directorate of Intelligence to reveal all US intelligence on the origins of covid, including the names of the first to be infected with it.

We'll see if that happens. I have a strong, strong feeling that "order" will be "modified."

Speaking of the lies told to cover up The Regime's killing of millions: Fauci ordered up a letter to be published by a scientific journal which presumed to debunk the lab leak theory. I mean "the lab leak fact," of course.

This letter said that it was impossible that Covid-19 was man-made. It also branded any theory that the novel respiratory bat coronavirus first detected in Wuhan was engineered in the novel respiratory bat coronavirus in Wuhan a "conspiracy theory," instead of what it reall was: So obvious that you'd have to be an "Expert" to dare denying it.

Well, it turns out that one of the men recruited by Fauci to write that lie now says that the letter was "went too far," and was never intended to refute the lab-leak theory at all.

He now claims he only intended to refute the claim that the virus had been created as a bioweapon.

Weird, the letter never said that, and Fauci never mentioned this limitation on the claims made in the letter. They denied all possible laboratory origins.

One of the authors of an influential scientific paper credited with casting the Covid lab leak hypothesis as a fringe conspiracy theory has today admitted they went 'too far'.

Professor Robert Garry, a respected microbiologist who works at Tulane University in New Orleans, is one of five bylined on a paper in March 2020 entitled 'The Proximal Origin of Sars-Cov-2'.

This controversial paper has been accused of trying to shut down the idea that Covid might have leaked from a lab in Wuhan and had instead emerged naturally, crossing over from an animal.

The letter, published in the journal Nature Medicine, concluded: 'We do not believe that any type of laboratory-based scenario is plausible.'

Now, Dr Garry has told the BBC this statement was never meant to dismiss all types of potential lab leak.

Speaking to Fever: The Hunt for Covid's Origin, an eight-part BBC Radio 4 series, he said they were aiming to dismiss the idea the virus had been intentionally crafted as a bioweapon.

'At that point we were still largely under the influence, when that particular sentence was written, with the notion that this may have been a bioengineered virus or maybe a weapon that just sort of accidentally released,' he said.

But pressed by John Sudworth, the BBC's former Beijing Correspondent, on how the paper's principal conclusion covered all types of lab leaks, such as a from a disease research facility, Professor Garry admitted the wording was wrong.

'Maybe we went a little too far there,' he said.

Maybe, "Expert."

And besides -- the latest reporting is that Covid-19 was in fact developed under the auspices of the Chinese military as a, yes, bioweapon.

So even this limited claim he now says he meant to make is a lie.

The UK's Sunday Times, basically a centrist equivalent of The New York Times for Great Britain (The New York Times was actually named after the Times), has a bombshell report that COVID-19 was indeed engineered by the Chinese military using US funding. The US funding came through the EcoHealth Alliance.

The trail of money went, as we already know, from the NIH through the EcoHealth Alliance to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The Chinese Military became involved in the coronavirus research around 2017 when gain-of-function research started bearing fruit.

The Times' report, which I strongly suspect is absolutely true although I have to take the Times' word on the provenance of the evidence, is based upon confidential documents leaked to them by investigators who were sent to Wuhan to study the outbreak. It also comes directly from the United States State Department's investigators who were sent to China to investigate the origins of the virus. There are extensive quotes from those State Department investigators.

And who will go to jail for this?

No one.

Who even will lose their job for this?

Again, no one -- The Regime protects its operatives.
