The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition
Conspiracy Theory! This is ridiculous! Nobody is considering this sort of draconian measure! What sort of a monster do you think government is?
Except...We saw the fist inside the velvet glove of government just a few years ago, when the spectacularly overhyped Covid pandemic gave them an opening to mandate onerous restrictions on our freedoms. And then it got worse with the equally overhyped and ineffective vaccine and the mandates for its use...on pain of loss of employment, isolation from loved ones, restrictions on freedom of movement, etc.
So restrictions on use of fossil-fueled transportation, heating, cooling and food preparation seem almost quaintly benign. After all, there are alternatives!
Farage: Climate Lockdowns Are Coming, 'Mark My Words'.
Brexit leader Nigel Farage has foretold of impending, authoritarian measures by Western governments designed to limit people’s movements and vehicle usage under the guise of “climate change” action. Speaking to supporters via social media, Farage warns: “climate lockdowns are coming,” citing a recent limit placed on automobile usage by the far left Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.
In response to one of Khan’s tweets, which encouraged Londoners to “avoid unnecessary car journeys,” Farage argued: “he’s telling us: don’t use your car unnecessarily, no engine idling, no burning of wood or waste.”
Except those alternatives are ridiculously expensive, ineffective, and in most cases woefully inadequate on any sort of large-scale.
Which is just a perfect description of government's response to pretty much every "crisis." The Covid response failed on every single front. Social distancing was crap. Masking was crap. The vaccine was crap. The anti-virals were crap. The epidemiology was crap. The government statistics were crap.
What about the GlobalWarmingTM. "crisis" is any different than the Covid one?
The solution to the mostly imagined problems of a petroleum-based energy system is obvious.
Nuclear.
It's clean, has a small footprint, is mature technology, has an essentially unlimited source of raw material, and can produce oceans of energy 24 hours a day. And the best part is that modular reactors are on the horizon, so 3rd World sh*tholes can get almost instant access to energy, which is highly correlated to...stay with me...wealth!
Which is exactly why the sane alternative to solar/wind/unicorn options for world-wide energy production will never be implemented until the globalists are crushed, and human freedom once more becomes important.
