The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“It’s like Game of Thrones. We have to keep this power. We have to keep the little bit that we have, which is all we have. And we’re not giving it up.” Nina Childs, a Black local activist and filmmaker

Quote II

“We’re going to focus on customers. That’s a fundamental, just truth of business—if you can create a business that, really, your customers love, you can do amazing things for the world.”Lyft CEO David Risher

Quote III

“Ferguson opened my eyes to the ugliness of American racism. Palestine made me weep over the brutality of American empire.” Columbia University Professor Nyle Fort

Yeah, yeah, The ONT is not too girthy tonight. But you do get an early Genius Award Winner.

A Colorado man is facing a rough situation after allegedly trying to avoid a DUI by swapping seats with his dog during a traffic stop, police said.

The incident occurred in Springfield this past Saturday, a small town that USA Today reported has just 1,300 people. The unidentified man was pulled over around 11:30 p.m. for allegedly driving 52 mph in a 30 mph zone, police said in a post on Facebook. At this point, the driver "attempted to switch places with his dog who was in the passenger seat," all while the police officer "approached and watched the entire process," the post said. The driver "then exited the passenger side of the vehicle and claimed he was not driving."

Well I can fall asleep tonight knowing that Strippers Exotic Entertainers can unionize.

Dancers at North Hollywood’s Star Garden Topless Dive Bar have become the nation’s only unionized strippers, officially joining Actors’ Equity after a 15-month battle with the venue’s owners.

Equity called the union recognition a “complete victory” for the dancers.

In a statement released by Equity, one of the Star Garden dancers who goes by the single name Reagan said, “If you have been following our journey, then you know this has been a long, exhausting fight, which is why this victory is so sweet. We put everything we have into this campaign, and we were fortunate to have the support and solidarity from the club’s patrons, our allies and friends, the labor movement and our union, Actors’ Equity Association.”

So we may have judges who aren't bleeding heart and incompetent progressives?

ARTIFICIAL intelligence systems may issue harsher penalties and judgements than humans do if not properly trained, a new study has found.

A group of scientists with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of Toronto recently sought to find whether AI systems can replicate human judgment, as AI continues to be integrated into everyday life.

H/T CBD who told me, "What a pathetic country we are becoming." I disagree with him. "What a pathetic country we have become."

McDonald's has been found partially liable after two Florida parents claimed their 4-year-old daughter suffered second-degree burns from a "dangerously hot" chicken nugget, leaving her "disfigured and scarred."

A jury found the franchisee responsible for negligence and failure to warn the customer about the risk of hot food, the Associated Press reported on Friday. McDonald's itself was found to have failed to provide instructions for safe handling, but not to be negligent.

The lawsuit raises renewed questions about the extent to which food producers should take safety precautions in order to protect their customers. McDonald's denied the claims against it and said it made "food safety a top priority."

And I'll take it one step further, those parents should have never been allowed to reproduce.

It is never nice to show up government. Just ask President Trump or the local guy who wanted his road repaired.

A hunt is on to find a phantom pothole filler who appears to be doing the council’s job for them.

The pothole in question was a rather large crater in Lostwithiel, Cornwall, that was so big the road had to be closed to drivers.

Cornwall Council has kept it shut since the beginning of April while its roads repair company Cormac deal with more pressing potholes.

Good work if you can get it. And then bitch about not receiving a raise.

IT Worker on Sick Leave for 15 Years Sues Company for Not Giving Them a Pay Raise

An IT specialist who has been on sick leave with no obligation to work since 2008 recently tried to sue their employer for not giving them a pay raise.

Ian Clifford, a ‘medically retired’ IT specialist who has been paid a £54,000 ($67,500) yearly salary as part of his disability plan with his employer, tech giant IBM, recently tried to sue the American company for ‘disability discrimination’, claiming that his salary was not ‘generous enough’ to keep up with inflation. Mr. Clifford has not done any work for the company in the last 15 years but will continue to receive his yearly salary until retirement or death, as per IBM’s disability plan. Despite this, the IT worker feels that he has been treated unfairly by his employer, and he is attempting to take the company to court for a pay raise.

He won't be impeached. But, if it raises awareness of the worthless FBI that's a good thing.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has seen enough and introduced articles of impeachment against FBI Director Christopher Wray today.

In the articles of impeachment, Greene argues that Wray has facilitated “the development of a Federal police force to intimidate, harass, and entrap American citizens that are deemed enemies of the Biden regime.”

KENT COUNTY, MI – A woman tried to smuggle drugs into the Kent County Jail by disguising an inmate’s mail as legal documents from an attorney, sheriff’s deputies said.

The plan was foiled when the inmate was released from jail before receiving the letter. It was labeled with an attorney’s name and returned to the purported sender.

The attorney, who did not send the mail, contacted the Sheriff’s Department to investigate possible fraud.
