Fox News' Demo Ratings In Tucker's Old Slot? 90,000
That's horrific.
Tucker had been delivering demo ratings of 270,000 to 380,000 or so.
Fox News has lost two thirds of its in-the-demo (ages 25-54) audience.
Now they're losing to Allahpundit's old boicrush, Chris "Hotdogs!" Hayes.
In the time since they parted ways, ratings in primetime among key demographics of cable television viewers have cratered badly declined with Carlson's former show spot ratings dropping by around 50 percent. The network's audience among 25- to 54-year-olds had shrunk by two-thirds.
From AdWeek:
According to viewing figures produced by Adweek, a trade publication, for the evening of May 5, Carlson's former 8 p.m. ET slot attracted an audience of 90,000, while at the same time MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes was seen by 145,000, among viewers aged 25-54.
In the other primetime slots at 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. on May 5, Fox News' offering was outpaced in viewership among the key demographic by MSNBC by 44,000 and 31,000 respectively.
By comparison, Carlson's final show on Friday, April 21 attracted more than 2.6 million viewers--270,000 in the 25-54 age bracket--while nearly 1.4 million watched the same slot on MSNBC. His departure was only publicly announced the following Monday.
According to Fortune magazine, his 8 p.m. ET slot averaged just over 3 million viewers across 2022, and was the second most popular program on cable TV.
Stephen Green says that Fox shouldn't count on "the Fox brand" getting them through this.
Fox News hasn't been the star, so to speak, with its conservative viewers since the network called Arizona early on Election Night in 2020. They threw away their brand that night and have since relied on genuinely conservative personalities like Tucker to maintain primetime dominance.
The neocons want "their party" -- a party which make corporations into gods and reflexively supports anyone in the hierarchy of authority without question or complaint, the party they used to own -- back. Tucker Carlson was opposed to neocon Old Guard Republicanism, so the neocons took him out.
But we're not going back to that. We're not patriots for repulsive, greedy corporate interests. Rupert Murdoch, NeverTrumpers, and the rest of the neocons can suck a bag of rotten dicks. We are never restoring you to power.
And if you oppose us? We'll just destroy you. You want a war? You and what Tranheuser-Busch army?
Well you got a war.
Are we being unreasonable, demanding that corporations that want our business actually respect our wishes and at least appear to respect us...?
What's that old saying?
"We can remain unreasonable longer than you can remain solvent."
Meanwhile: Media Matters reports that Tucker Carlson said that if you have pronouns in your Twitter bio, you're "on the other side" and shouldn't work at Fox!
Is this an Irena Briganti leak or has Media Matters been sitting on this?
Wow, what a stunning, damaging leak!
Oh em gee you guys, I'm so upset!
He says that Fox News is filled with liberals.
I can't believe that!
