The beagle, Lucky, is our shelter dog, now about 8 years old, getting fat like his lame dad. The little black beauty is our daughter's pug, Minnie, also known as Maleficent when naughty, which is often as can be seen here.

My nic is Aelishdad. Aelish was the forever dog we all wish we could have. Her rescue pic on the old sofa is photo three.

Sorry you lost Aelish, a special dog. Glad you have the other two, with their own personalities.

I had to put Angus down today, he was too weak and showing that he was in pain. Poor old guy, I think he was 16 and until the last month he was in wonderful health. The last week I have been giving him water and trying to feed him watered down babyfood via an irrigation syringe. It wasn't enough. He is buried on the fenceline by where the neighborhood cats cross because his self appointed duty was to chase them all off or fight with them if they wouldn't go. His vet file is full of treated abscesses from cat fights. He was a good cat, weighed about 19 lbs at his biggest, and I essentially stole him from a neighbor 14 years ago.

Minky is my little black tom, and he adores Angus. They would try to strangle each other when wrassling in the yard. He wanted nothing more than to cuddle with Angus, and did as long as Angus would let him

Kindltot

So sorry you lost Angus. Beautiful cat. I'm sure Minky will miss him, too.

From Howard:

In April of this year we lost Rascal, our "good boy" and constant companion of the last fifteen years. He came to us at the age of about six months, showing up at our rural ranch door on Thanksgiving Day, with no collar, no tatoo, and no chip. A check with the local police and veterinarian revealed no reports of lost dogs. As a Labrador Retriever, Rascal quickly established a house rule: "samples of all food must be submitted to the Lab for testing".

For his first thirteen years with us, Rascal had another rescue dog as his closest friend. This was Rollie, a little black terrier-spaniel mix whom I had picked up from a roadside ditch. After placing him on the passenger side of the truck seat and taking my place in the driver's seat, Rollie crawled across the seat and put his head on my lap. Rollie was fifteen when he left us, two years ago.

The loss of Rascal is recent enough that we still reflexively look for him in accustomed places, and have split-seconds when we think we see him in a moving shadow. He will live on in our memories, with all of his predecessor dogs.

So sorry that you have lost your friend, Rascal. Thanks for sharing your memories.

Finally, the official AoSHQ Swiss Guide Dog takes us to Lenzerheide.

If you start feeling nostalgic, here a link to last week's Pet Thread, the Ace of Spades Pet Thread, April 29. Some special PetMoron stories and photos there.

I closed the comments on this post so you wouldn't get banned for commenting on a week-old post, but don't try it anyway.
