Walmart Closes Four Locations in Chicago Due to Incessant Looting and No Police Protection.
"Community Activists" Demand That Walmart Remain Open and Just Let People Steal As They Wish.
They shrieked for years about "food deserts" and pressured companies like Walmart to open up more food stores in the cities.
And then, when the companies accede to their demands, they are the victims of constant, ruinous looting.
And the same community activists just say, "Suck it up, you're rich. Just give away your stock to criminals."
Walmart closed four Chicago locations over the weekend, and now community leaders want to know where people will get food and prescriptions -- and what will happen to the empty buildings.
"This is a place where most people get their fresh fruits and vegetables, considering that a lot of the corner stores that's in our neighborhood currently only provide junk food," said Ilandrea Nichols, Senior Service Coordinator for My Block My Hood My City.
One "activist" tweeted -- though he has since deleted this tweet, it appears -- that Walmart should just be happy that criminals are kind enough to rob them blind.
The comments on here are really telling. The people who own Walmart are some of the richest in the world and they didn’t get there by "working harder". Work with the community instead of complaining about a few stolen TVs.

Why is Walmart closing across Chicago? Why is there a food desert in X neighborhood? Why is Whole Foods closing in SF? Because no store can stay in business if walking in a store & "eating free," & teaching your kids to do the same, is celebrated. #Crime https://twitter.com/ClownWorld_/status

Unfortunately, while these thieves may suffer, a broader population of people in this community will suffer more.
The "broader population in this community" supports this lawlessness, and should suffer the natural consequences of their actions. They may not be stealing themselves, but they're electing people on a "defund the police and empty the prisons" platform. I have no sympathy, and I don't ever want to hear whining about "food deserts" again.
Don't like deserts? Then don't fucking burn down all the trees and fields.
I added this as an update to the last post, but it's directly about the Walmart closing: Chicago's Mayor-Elect defended the looting of Walmart.

Meanwhile, in LA, it was a scene out of The Road Warrior.
Did you hear that? About a "street takeover"?
There have been three "street takeovers" in LA in recent day."
A "street takeover" is a euphemism for "rule by criminal mob."
Another way to say that is "criminal insurrection."
Via the LA Times:
An estimated 100 people broke into a Compton gas station after a street takeover early Sunday morning, smashing open a door and grabbing merchandise off the shelves, authorities said.
A mob of people flooded into the Arco gas station about 2:30 a.m. near Alondra Boulevard and Central Avenue, according to authorities and videos posted on local TV news stations and social media.
At least three street takeovers occurred overnight in the Compton area, including one at the intersection where the break-in occurred, said Sgt. Clarence Williams of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Video footage shows a man in a black mask and hood using an object to smash through glass and open a door into the station. Then dozens of people -- some wearing masks and others not -- push into the store.
People can be seen grabbing snacks, drinks and other items in a chaotic frenzy. One person caught on video grabs multiple packs of condoms while smiling.
