AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List

Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.

Prayer Requests:

12/23 – Coelacanth asked for prayers for his son. After a lot of struggles and prayers, the son has come back to the family and to faith. He’s gotten a great job in his engineering field. However, his thesis, approved by his main professor, was utterly rejected. Three years of work and a 3.9 GPA was rejected. The son is heartbroken, but his faith is sustaining him. He even prayed for his professors. Please pray that this can be rectified. And thanks to all who prayed for him last year.

12/24 – weirdflunky needs prayers for her brother, Ref. He is in the hospital with end stage liver disease. He was admitted last week and given 3 months to live. His only hope is a transplant, for which he ineligible. His wife died of Covid in 2020 and he went crazy. He moved to FL and (basically) killed himself. weirdflunky is heartbroken.
1/14 – Ref has passed away. Weirdflunky could use some prayers as she is heartbroken, and she sends her thanks for the prayers.

12/25 – FortWorthMike sends an update on his grand-niece, Chloe, the toddler we have been praying for. She has received the kidney transplant she needed! Chloe and the donor are both doing well. FortWorthMike thanks the horde with all his heart for all the prayers!

12/28 – Jane D’oh asks for prayers for her husband. He is in critical condition in the ICU. He has double pneumonia that came on very suddenly, as he walked to his car after work. He has no signs of heart issues or blood clots.
12/29 Update – There have been complications (after some earlier good news today), and Jane and her husband really need prayers. As they removed the vent, his trachea collapsed, causing two air sacs to form in his lungs, which then burst. His heart stopped for 3 minutes, and he was put back on the vent. He is sedated now. Jane is full of hope for his recovery, and very much appreciates the prayers.
1/9 Update – Jane’s husband is off the vent and doing well, praise God! He can’t talk but just keeps whispering “wow”. Everything is looking good. He is expected to be hospitalized for several more days. Thank you to all for the many prayers. They have helped them so much.

12/29 – It’s me Donna requests prayers for her son-in-law. He ended up in the ER last night with heart palpitations. Her daughter is spending her birthday there.
Update – Her son-in-law is fine. It was a severe panic attack. They did tests so will see if there is anything else also occurring.

12/29 – Cybersmythe requests prayers for his friend D.C., an occasional reader of the AoSHQ, who is in the hospital after having a stroke and some other health issues.

1/4 – G asks for prayers for his brother, J.

1/7 – Longtime lurker and rare poster Don Draper humbly asks for prayers for his mother Marianne, as she journeys through hospice. Her battle is over, but prayers for a gentle landing would be greatly appreciated.

1/7 – Skip asked for prayers. His boss from a previous company passed away recently. He leaves behind 2 sons, young adults now, and a wife.

1/7 – Wenda’s husband passed away. He had been suffering from Parkinson’s and dementia. He went into hospice a few weeks ago. He’d tested positive for Covid and was placed in isolation. She is grateful he is no longer in the maze his mind had become. He is free to be at peace at last.

1/10 – Flounder needs prayers. He had a heart attack but was able to drive himself to the ER. He is waiting on test results.

1/10 – Olddog in MO’s wife had a hematoma on a nerve and is in severe pain. Prayers for relief and healing are appreciated.

1/10 – A lurker asks for prayers for the husband of a dear friend. “Flier” is having part of his colon removed. Prayers are requested for a successful surgery and a good recovery.

1/13 – Village Idiot’s Apprentice requests prayers for his health. They’ve found a recurrence of prostate cancer 13 years after radical prostatectomy.

1/14 – John the River asks for prayers for his best friend, Doug, who has passed away, and for his sweet widow Diane, their son, and family. Doug is free of pain and at last sails the blue waters and leaves the shore behind him.

1/15 – D asked for prayers for Sarah A. Hoyt, the novelist, who has been experiencing multiple health issues for a long time. She is struggling to do the work that needs to be done. Please pray for healing.

1/18 – Teresa in Fort Worth needs prayers for help with a decision. Her daughter, Rebecca, is having hip replacement surgery in a few hours. They are worried they are doing the wrong thing. Her hips have been causing pain for many years. It turns out her pelvic bones didn’t develop properly (she has Down syndrome) and her hips are grinding bone on bone. Because of her small stature, there is only 1 appliance on the market, and it may be too big for her. If it doesn’t work, they may need to cut off the top of the bone. Intellectually, they have explored every option, but the Mom side of her is worried that they are making the wrong decision.
1/19 Update – Rebecca had the surgery, and a restful night after that. Thank you all for your prayers. They are feeling hopeful about Rebecca’s prognosis.

1/19 – Fenelon requests prayers for her church, that if it’s God’s will that their financial problems be resolved so they can stay open to the glory of God.

Romans 8:26-27
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.
