CDC Investigating Link Between Pfizer's "Bivalent" Covid Vaccine and Strokes in People 65 and Older

Fauci was on Cavuto Friday claiming this is a "weak signal" only -- signal being a term of art meaning "statistical correlation" -- which has not been detected in other counties or in the patient self-reporting system, VAERS.

Why he used the industry jargon "signal" instead of just saying "statistical link," I don't know. Was he trying to make a lay audience understand, or impress them with unfamiliar jargon?

The CDC destroyed its credibility two years ago and its capacity for reassurance is zero.

The Bivalent jab contains the "vaccine" plus a booster.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that a preliminary COVID-19 vaccine "safety signal" has been identified and is investigating whether the Bivalent Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine creates an increased risk of ischemic stroke in people 65 and older.

In the Friday statement, the CDC said that the preliminary signal hasn't been identified with the Bivalent Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

"Following the availability and use of the updated (bivalent) COVID-19 vaccines, CDC's Vaccine Safety Datalink (VSD), a near real-time surveillance system, met the statistical criteria to prompt additional investigation into whether there was a safety concern for ischemic stroke in people ages 65 and older who received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent," the CDC said.

"Rapid-response investigation of the signal in the VSD raised a question of whether people 65 and older who have received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, Bivalent were more likely to have an ischemic stroke in the 21 days following vaccination compared with days 22-44 following vaccination."

According to the CDC, an ischemic stroke "occurs when blood clots or other particles block the blood vessels to the brain."

David Strom noted that while the CDC wants to show they're being "transparent," in fact this "signal" first appeared in November, and they're only warning about it now. I suppose that can be explained by the normal sort of vetting you'd want to put a "signal" through to check if it's real or just data-babble, but a lot of people are going to imagine the CDC is hiding the ball for their cronies at Pfizer again.

Note that while the CDC hasn't proven that the Bivalent vaccine causes these strokes, they still have detected a "signal" that maybe it does, and they're investigating it.

So: How does the Washington Post report this?

That's right: as a complete scientific proof that the Bivalent jab is safe.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Health is spending money on, you guessed it, LGBT issues and equity instead of cures for diseases. And Mitch McConnell's Atrocious Eighteen are responsible for this.

As Congress continues to expand its budget, the National Institutes of Health is increasingly spending its time on the issues of equity, LGBT and "systemic racism," devoting millions of taxpayer dollars to causes other than its primary mission to find medical cures and treatments.

...

The latest $1.7 trillion omnibus law passed by Congress last month increased NIH's 2023 budget by about $2.5 billion, or 5.6%, totaling $47.5 billion. NIH's budget 10 years ago was less than $30 billion.

This kind of focus comes in part because the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities was upgraded from a center to an institute during the Obama administration. Racial disparities do exist in certain health conditions, but the research grants awarded by NIH go beyond those standard health conditions.

...

For example, NIH funded a $1.2 million grant to find evidence that racism is to blame for poor sleep in minority communities. The studies are based on the hypothesis that the disparity in sleep health in the Black community is "thought to be explained partially by experiences of interpersonal racial discrimination."
