Missouri Mayor Bans Children From Attending "Drag Christmas" Event
You'd think the child endangerment laws would do so already, but apparently it takes a special action by the mayor.
By the way, because the New York Post is written and edited by hard-left liberals, they praise the show as "popular," and make it sound like a terrible thing that "children were turned away" from this "all-ages" event.
Children were turned away from a popular all-ages Christmas drag show after a Missouri town noted local legislation made it illegal for kids to attend.
Hours before the Factory, a venue in Chesterfield, Mo., held "A Drag Queen Christmas" on Wednesday -- featuring performers from the reality show "RuPaul's Drag Race" -- it announced ticket-holders had to be at least 18.
Chesterfield Mayor Bob Nation upped the age requirement, citing a local ordinance and concerns over what's acceptable for minors, Fox 2 News reported.
"In no way is this meant to disrespect or put down the LGBTQ+ community, or in no way is this meant to restrict drag shows," Nation said. "Those are legal entities, it's just the content that we were told might occur. We thought we should suggest limiting the age limit, and the promoters readily did that."
The event, taking place across several US cities, has been advertised as being appropriate for people of all ages.
Pedophiles say that oral sex is fun for all ages.
Just saying.
The drag show, featuring popular performers from the reality show, has for eight years traveled across the US looking to lift spirits during the holidays. It became controversial in Chesterfield, a western suburb of St. Louis, because the show was intended to be enjoyed by people of all ages.
"It's so full of joy and happiness. It really is supposed to be a safe space that we can all enjoy and come together as a community to feel like we belong," said Robert Fischer, an attendee and advocate with PROMO, Missouri's LGBTQ+ policy and advocacy organization.
