NBC "News" Suspends National Correspondent Who Reported That Paul Pelosi Walked Back Inside Towards His "Friend" David DePape After Letting Police Into His Home, Without Explaining the Grounds for the Suspension

He's being suspended for damaging a political narrative, of course, with unapproved facts.

Or maybe NBC "News" is just showing what White Liberals really think of Latinxes who don't follow the scripts White Liberals have written for them.

NBC News has reportedly suspended national correspondent Michael Almaguer over a story the news outlet retracted about the assault of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi.

Almaguer's apparent suspension, first reported by The Daily Beast, comes after NBC said it retracted the reporter's Nov. 4 story on Pelosi "because it did not meet NBC News reporting standards."

...

"The 82-year-old did not immediately declare an emergency or try to leave his home but instead began walking several feet back into the foyer toward the assailant and away from police," Almaguer said.

His report seems to contradict police and prosecutors' claims and spurred conspiracy theories.

When asked about Almaguer, NBC News spokesman Stephen Labaton said: "We don’t comment on personnel matters."

NBC "News" still hasn't said the report was false.

Just that it didn't conform to their "reporting standards." Or let's call it, their narrative preferences.

Related: The nation's number one most regretted college major?

Journ0lizming, of course.

On the basis of the survey results, CNBC reported that 44% of all job seekers with college degrees regret their fields of study.

Those most stricken with regret were graduates who majored in journalism, 87% of whom indicated they would choose another major if they could.

The problem for journalism grads seeking to join the class of people who told disenfranchised miners to learn to code is far more pressing than the fact that only 34% of Americans trust the mass media to report the news "fully, accurately and fairly."

Axios reported late last month that it's a "brutal, fearful time for American media," with over 3,000 media jobs cut already this year and even more layoffs, hiring freezes, and cost-cutting measures in the works.

Snap Inc., for instance, announced plans to lay off 20% of its staff at the end of August. Gannett CEO Mike Reed told his staff on Aug. 31 that his media organization would be eliminating 3% of its U.S. workforce and cutting open positions. In September, CNN began dumping staffers in its audio division.

Sad.
