The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“What’s left out there in terms of how the vote keeps, you know, coming in, despite all of what has been said by Donald Trump and other election deniers, and now beginning to be also Kelli Ward who’s falling behind you know, Katie Hobbs, but for the governor’s race, Maricopa County has some of the best vote counting processes because of past problems.” NBC's Andrea Mitchell

Quote II

"We need everyone focused on winning the Georgia Senate race, and deceptive fundraising tactics by teams that just won their races are siphoning money away from Georgia,” Herschel Walker campaign manager Scott Paradise

Quote III

"We underperformed among independents and moderates because their impression of many of the people in our party in leadership roles is that they're involved in chaos, negativity, excessive attacks, and it frightened independent and moderate Republican voters," Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

Fucking loser.

For those lucky enough to be stranded and then located. Hang on, your snack is on its way.

It's a nightmare scenario. You're on an ambitious mountain hike when you get lost, injured or stranded. The good news is help is finally on the way, but the bad news is it's going to take time to reach you and you're out of food. That's when a buzzing drone comes flying in for a landing. Not only do you get the snacks, medicine or water it's carrying, you can eat the wings to tide you over until the rescue team arrives.

This scenario could become real. A team with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL) has developed a prototype edible drone. The munchable machine is part of a broader project called RoboFood. RoboFood is about investigating edible robots for humans and animals as well as foods that behave like robots.

Instead of worrying about the soaring costs of fuel and food Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is worried about the effects of Ticket Master crashing.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez accused Ticketmaster of monopolizing the ticket sales industry on Tuesday after the company's site crashed as Taylor Swift fans attempted to buy pre-sale tickets to the singer's upcoming "Eras" tour.

Ocasio-Cortez took the opportunity to voice longstanding concern about the 2010 merger of Ticketmaster, the ticket sales and distribution company, and Live Nation, the events promoter and venue operator, into Live Nation Entertainment.

"Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly, it's merger with LiveNation should never have been approved, and they need to be reigned in. Break them up," the Democratic congresswoman from New York tweeted.

Interesting story. Above my pay grade. I wonder what our former naval Morons think. Navy captain censured over fatal Marine AAV accident recommended to command aircraft carrier

Eight Marines and one sailor were killed in the deadliest training accident involving an amphibious assault vehicle in Marine Corps history.

The former captain of the amphibious transport dock USS Somerset has been selected to command an aircraft carrier even though he received a letter of censure from the Navy Secretary for his role in the July 30, 2020 training accident in which eight Marines and one sailor died when their amphibious assault vehicle sank.

Capt. John William Kurtz’s name appears on the Navy’s fiscal 2024 list of officers who are recommended to command an aircraft carrier. If selected, Kurtz would not be promoted, as commanding officers for aircraft carriers hold the rank of captain.

Not so fast with this widespread bribery the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals says.

President Joe Biden’s widespread student loan forgiveness plan was blocked for the second time in less than a week, this time by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in St. Louis.

The federal appeals court ruling comes after six conservative states—Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and South Carolina—filed a lawsuit arguing that Biden’s loan cancellation plan hurts state revenues. The three-judge panel of the appeals court issued a nationwide injunction on the plan, meaning the Biden administration cannot forgive any debt under the program.

“The injunction will remain in effect until further order of this court or the Supreme Court of the United States,” the panel of appeals court judges wrote in the ruling.

Perhaps the adults in the room didn't want MushHead to party with them.

He took an unexplained pass on Tuesday’s final festivities at the G-20 summit, but President Biden still had a very busy day diplomatically as the Group of 20 summit of the world’s leading developed and developing nations wound down in Bali, Indonesia.

Mr. Biden unexpectedly skipped the gala leaders’ dinner, returning to his hotel room for the evening. It is unclear why Mr. Biden decided on the last-minute change to his schedule, which came at the end of a full day of meetings.

A sex war is on the horizon here.

“Gas prices? They’ll go down. But sure, tell me more about how you want the government to tell me what to do with my body.” So writes one liberal feminist on Twitter, following it up with: “Republicans suck. I don’t want to talk to you. I don’t want to hear your side. I don’t care. Y’all are bad people.”

If 21st-century politics is shaping up as class war, the American midterm elections have concretised a troubling facet of this political landscape: this class war is also a sex war.

Writing about the dynamic as a feminist is uncomfortable in the extreme because it’s difficult to do so without being accused of misogyny. This is not least because among the very online Right, there really is more than a tinge of misogyny to the term most commonly used to denote progressive-leaning Virtual women: AWFLs.

The stockholders of Twitter walked away smelling like roses. In the meantime Elon Musk is really ending the literal "Free Lunch" at Twitter.

Twitter employees are once again in an uproar after CEO Elon Musk made a ridiculous discovery involving the program’s costs.

Twitter’s San Francisco HQ’s free lunch program was axed by the technology mogul after he discovered they were costing the company close to $13 million a year, the New York Post reported.

Sperm count drop is accelerating worldwide and threatens the future of mankind, study warns

Sperm counts worldwide have halved over the past five decades, and the pace of the decline has more than doubled since the turn of the century, new research shows.

The international team behind it says the data is alarming and points to a fertility crisis threatening the survival of humanity.

Their meta-analysis looked at 223 studies based on sperm samples from over 57,000 men across 53 countries.

He didn't notice a missing part. Parts are parts unless you are a Genius Award Winner.

Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A British man who feared he was going deaf used a home endoscope kit and discovered a piece of an earbud had been stuck in his ear for about five years.

Wallace Lee of Weymouth, Dorset, said he had been experiencing hearing loss for the past few years, and ended up buying a home endoscope kit to see if he could identify the issue.
