The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“In their disregard for human life, in their determination to defile national symbols, they are children of the same foul spirit and it is our continuing duty to confront them,” Former President George W. Bush

Quote II

“It’s hard to believe that this was an inadvertent error or a minor matter of methodology. More likely, someone in the University knew that there was serious misrepresentation afoot. If so, who was it?” Professor Michael Thaddeus

Quote III

“To see this headline on September 11 is appalling. Why is justice such an elusive concept in America today? Will the heinous among us never be held accountable? This is an outrage, and to read about it on this sacred day is an insult to the fallen,” James Woods

Another day. Another day to loathe our federal judiciary and the cowards who operate it.

Fox News reported on this yesterday afternoon — with heavy irony on the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. CBS News’ Catherine Herridge confirms this morning that the Pentagon has opened plea-deal negotiations with the five masterminds of the worst terror attacks on America. In exchange for life sentences, the five will drop all appeals and agree “substantial sentences” in American prisons.

Fucking revolting.

Too little, too late when the horse is out of the barn.

The Department of Justice approves of one of Donald Trump’s two candidates for special master to review documents seized from the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

Prosecutors said they accepted Raymond Dearie, former U.S. district court judge, according to a court filing on Monday. Dearie and DOJ picks Barbara Jones and Thomas Griffith “each have substantial judicial experience” making them viable candidates for special master, the document said.

Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime

WASHINGTON — Justice Department officials have seized the phones of two top advisers to former President Donald J. Trump and blanketed his aides with about 40 subpoenas in a substantial escalation of the investigation into his efforts to subvert the 2020 election, people familiar with the inquiry said on Monday.

The seizure of the phones, coupled with a widening effort to obtain information from those around Mr. Trump after the 2020 election, represent some of the most aggressive steps the department has taken thus far in its criminal investigation into the actions that led to the Jan. 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob.

Perhaps Europeans should burn UN staff to keep warm this winter and in winters to come.

Freeze for Global Agenda: U.N. Demands European Nations Do Not Return to Fossil Fuels over Energy Crisis

The world is grappling with the worst energy crisis in generations however the U.N. has warned Europe a return to fossil fuels in response to soaring prices and winter shortages must not be considered under any circumstances.

Russia has reduced supplies of gas to Europe since its invasion of Ukraine, sending fuel prices soaring, while supply chain issues in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic have also hit deliveries.

A look at current culture.................

What is the protocol for tipping?

“So yesterday I went to a restaurant with somebody that I love, and we decided that this time we would turn our duo into a trio and we invited one of our friends,” she starts. “When we sat at the table, none of the servers showed up and one of the managers came by and told us that they would not like to serve us anymore.”

I think if management remembers you to kick your ass out of the store there is more to the story than the lack of tipping.

Being the cynical misanthropic Cob that I am. I don't believe this douche wasn't aware of the fees and could have canceled anytime.

‘What is the need for a small order fee?’: DoorDash customer calls out ‘unnecessary’ fees resulting in $23 milk tea order
'I got an 'expanded range fee' for something 3 miles away from me.'

You pay for convenience.

It's pretty basic and straight forward: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; What don't they understand?

It is Yeshiva University that is arguing it "cannot comply with that order because doing so would violate its sincere religious beliefs about how to form its undergraduate students Torah values."

"To avoid the irreparable harm that would come to Yeshiva, its students, and its community from the government-enforced establishment of a Yeshiva Price Alliance club, applicants respectfully request an immediate stay…"

Welcome to Mis. Hum's. Gun Emporium Fabulous Emporium.

NEW YORK (AP) — Payment processor Visa Inc. said Saturday that it plans to start separately categorizing sales at gun shops, a major win for gun control advocates who say it will help better track suspicious surges of gun sales that could be a prelude to a mass shooting.

But the decision by Visa, the world’s largest payment processor, will likely provoke the ire of gun rights advocates and gun lobbyists, who have argued that categorizing gun sales would unfairly flag an industry when most sales do not lead to mass shootings. It joins Mastercard and American Express, which also said they plan to move forward with categorizing gun shop sales.

What utter Bullshit.

I had seen this last night after I had posted the Sunday ONT and saved it for today. I'm still using it although Ace spoofed on it earlier.

LONDON — In his first official royal decree, King Charles has replaced Meghan and Harry in the line of succession with two of the late Queen's corgis.

"Fluffy here shall immediately assume the title of Duke," said Charles, presenting the corgi with a scepter. "There now! Who's a good future King of England?"

The nation of England erupted into celebration upon hearing the news. "After the sadness of the past week, it feels good to have something to be happy about," said citizen Gerald Funderburk. "The thought of the monarchy falling into the hands of Harry or Meghan, those blithering idiots…we can all rest a little easier tonight knowing the kingdom will be in good hands. Or paws."

Unlike Megan, Corgis are cuddly.
