AoSHQ Jukebox Cafe

This is a general purpose music thread.

Just for nostalgia, I'm listing some of the songs I remember charting on the Aceboard Top 100 charts. But you don't have to talk about any of those if you don't want.

Stop being such a mealy-mouthed
soyboy beta cvck bitch,
and start the countdown!

Okay Johnny Coldcuts, I'm getting to that. I can't remember it very clearly. This is stuff from almost 20 years ago.

From long ago: Beatallica, a band that combines the Beatles and Metallica. This is "The Thing That Should Not Let It Be."

I think Senator Jack tipped me to these guys. Here's another one, my favorite, I think: "For Horsemen."

I was really into The Darkness' "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" when it came out in 2003. Though I don't think I became aware of it until 2004.

At the start of the Iraq War, I was very into Outkast's "Bombs Over Baghdad." I linked it a lot. I was younger then. Not quite nearly 29.

I think I wound up linking Outkast's "Hey Ya" a few times. There's a little cameo there. The guy introducing the band is Ryan Phillippe. Who I've heard might be, you know. One of us.

That was from 2003, but that's another one I don't remember hearing until 2004 or so.

I was absolutely obsessed with this song in 2005. I know I posted about it, and I listened to incessantly for a three month period:

Almost sixty million views on YouTube alone.

These sexy ladies delivered what might be the second-most popular "Ace Song."

I remember that one!
It still pulses in my large German brusten!

Benny Mardones' "Into the Night" charted briefly on the blog, owing to the fact that it contains the stupidest lyric in all of pop music.

This doesn't count as a song, exactly, but commenters have linked and linked and linked this demonstration of how half the big pop rock songs you know are built on the same four chords, I, II, iv, VI.

I don't want to blame LauraW for this one, but it is my memory -- possibly wrong -- that LauraW foisted this song on the blog, "(Let Me) Smell Yo' D*ck." It's a charming number about a woman who suspects her boyfriend is cheating on her, and so requests that he let her smell... well I don't want to give it all away.

LauraW definitely dropped this one on the blog: Cee Lo's "F*** You." That was from 2010.

I know I posted this one a lot in reference to Obama's excuses: Shaggy's "It Wasn't Me."

The last song I pushed on the blog was this one. I was an early adopter of these chicks.

They showed off their legs in this performance at Lollapalooza (they're still doing that?) at the end of July.

I can't remember any more. Can any of you?

Well, I can remember one more: A little song of encouragement for a cat named Brandon.

I should give a special mention to this guy, although I don't remember playing many of his songs.

Here's the thing he's really Blog-Famous for: "The Guys Get Shirts." As "visualized" by some people pretending to be part of the Paul Anka band.

The guys get shirts!
What a call-back!
Makes me want to dance a pirate jig!
