The Law Of (Un)intended Consequences: Crime In Big Cities That Are Actively Hostile Toward Their Police Forces Is Going To Continue To Get Worse...We Haven't Seen The Worst Of It!There is nothing even remotely confusing about the relationship behind hostility toward the police and their perfectly understandable desire to get the hell out of those cities that are on the forefront of defunding the police, which is Newspeak for abusing and hamstringing the cops so they can't do their jobs and hate their work. New York has the ugliest raw numbers because its police force is the biggest in the country, but there are cities that are as bad, if not worse. How many new recruits are joining the police in Seattle and Portland? How many experienced officers are bailing out and joining suburban forces, where the pay is better and the treatment is far better? NYPD exodus: Police on pace to quit, retire in record numbers “The NYPD is sliding deeper into a staffing crisis that will ultimately hurt public safety,” Police Benevolent Association Patrolman Union President Patrick Lynch said. The true believers on the city council are simply the tools of the committed hard left, who see the degradation of an ordered society as the most important prerequisite for the installation of a socialist government in America. How better to achieve that then destroying peoples' faith in the ability of government to protect them from violence on the streets? But what is scariest is the suggestion that it will take a generation to repair the damage! New York and the other blue cities are about to enjoy the fruits of the long march through the institutions, and it isn't going to be a fun ride. One thought though...imagine if the Supreme Court finds in favor of the several gun cases wending their way through the appellate system, and in a few years the citizens of NYC are able to enjoy their God-given, natural right of self defense! Of course the Upper West Side would continue to be a gun-free zone, but there are dozens of working class neighborhoods in NYC that are not quite as insane as the useful idiots in the wealthier (and so far safer) neighborhoods. That might be the ultimate schadenfreude...the Upper West Side becoming the most dangerous neighborhood in New York! | Recent Comments
