Trudeau announces the end of his use of the Emergencies Act.

I wouldn't take this as a win. The Parliament's endorsement of his use of it, I think, means he's legally immunized for breaking the law and declaring wartime martial law without an actual wartime to justify it.

Though I guess it's good that he won't be able to use Emergencies Act powers to continue harassing truckers and donors... or will he?

By the way, Trudeau only won his "endorsement" of his Emergencies Act invocation by declaring the vote a confidence-of-government vote-- if he'd lost the vote, it would have triggered a new election, which his party and the NDP party supporting him did not want. So many people voting in favor of this were just voting to avoid giving conservatives power.

It's possible that he secured a "Yay" vote only on the condition he immediately renounce the power. Just speculation, I don't have any sources or anything.

The trouble is that he and the rest of his "libertarian" palz have only been selectively libertarian on this issue. Robbie Soave, for example, was all in favor of governors, and Biden, forcing businesses to in turn force their employees to get vaxed.

Then suddenly, when DeSantis said that businesses could not impose a vaccine mandate requirement on employees, Soave suddenly remembered to play his MuhLibertarianism card and said "But you can't force businesses to not impose a mandate!"

Why not, Robbie? You were just supporting forcing them to impose a mandate. Why can't we force them to not impose one? It seems to me that the latter, at least, while still impinging freedom, actually protects more freedom, as it protects all of the workers' freedom while only restricting the freedom of the business- whereas you were eager to take away the freedom of the business and all the workers, too.

Fake libertarian/"conservatarian," but in reality, just a simple two-penny liberal Democrat AllahPundit has been running this hustle for two years. He loves every government mandate on businesses -- but then when DeSantis says that businesses can't just impose their will on employees, he starts mumbling about Muh, muh, muh... MuhLibertarianism!!!!

And what about this disgusting fatbody Tracisnski?

Well he writes for the Bulwark so what kind of principled, penetrating thinker do you think he is?

Here was Tracinski on September 24, 2021 -- eagerly supporting governors' rights to impose vaccine mandates on businesses, and, through businesses, on all employees.

Even the most strident advocates of liberty have usually recognized narrow exceptions for public health. There is no right to infect, and spreading a deadly disease to others because you failed to take basic precautions is arguably a form of assault. A federal vaccine mandate is probably wrong simply because it is federal, and thus impinges on public health powers that belong on the state level. But a state vaccine mandate would arguably be a legitimate power of government.

But now that DeSantis says that businesses cannot impose a vaccine mandate, Tracinski suddenly has discovered that a business' right to make its own decisions as regards its vaccination policy is absolute and sovereign.

They're all the same. They're literally all the same. I think they're all on the same Slack channel, the same NeverTrump schlub disgusing fatbody Journ0List. I think they all say the exact same things because they're all coordinating with each other in hidden chatboards, little stupid ants frantically beating their little stupid antennae on each other, massaging a hive-wide message through every ant skull.

If you support government imposition on businesses and citizens whenever it's something you and your liberal cronies like, and only remember to bust out the Muh Libertarianism (TM) card when it's something you don't like, that's not actually libertarianism. That's just standard issue liberal progressivism with the snotty, juvenile taunt of know-nothing libertarian teenagers who just read Ayn Rand for the first time and it was like so trippy, man -- which is particularly unbecoming in fat fifty-year-old men.

Isn't it weird how these True Conservatives and Libertarians always find themselves defending the authoritarian excesses of the leftist leviathan state? Weird, huh?
